Recent data from the survey on AYUSH conducted by National Sample Survey Office, India reveals that 50% of Indians used AYUSH healthcare system in the last year! 🔹 AYUSH system of medicines refers to the use of one or more of the system(s) of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homeopathy 🔹 95% of rural and 96% of urban folks are aware of AYUSH traditions. 🔹 85% of rural and 86% of urban households practice Medicinal Plants/Home Remedies/Local Health Traditions. 🔹 Nearly half of rural (46%) and over half of urban (53%) individuals used AYUSH in the last year for health benefits. Scaling a startup is never straightforward. Each journey is unique, shaped by its own challenges and growth trajectory. Lately, I’ve noticed two critical challenges that come up time and again: ⚖️ Balancing Survival and Growth One of the toughest challenges for founders is walking the fine line between staying afloat today and building for tomorrow. Resource constraints make this balancing act especially tricky. I’ve found the 80/20 rule to be a practical framework: 80% on Immediate Survival: Focus on actions that sustain the business and cash flow. • Prioritize quick-win sales from existing customers. • Streamline operations to cut unnecessary costs. • Optimize cash flow with smart payment terms. 20% on Future Growth: Invest in initiatives that drive long-term scalability. • Build strategic partnerships to unlock new opportunities. • Invest in product development to maintain a competitive edge. • Explore market expansion to scale sustainably. ⏳ Managing Partnership Delays Partnerships are often pivotal to a startup’s growth—whether it’s securing distribution, co-developing products, or accessing new markets. But I’ve noticed delays are almost inevitable and can threaten timelines and objectives. These delays often stem from misaligned expectations, slow decision-making, or shifting priorities. Instead of frustration, I’ve seen that shifting to action can make all the difference: • Act quickly: Re-engage stakeholders and provide data-driven updates to rebuild momentum. • Focus on essentials: Ruthlessly prioritize critical deliverables over nice-to-haves. • Phase delivery: Roll out core features first, ensuring incremental progress while maintaining quality. Scaling isn’t about perfect execution—it’s about staying adaptive, focusing on what matters, and moving forward despite setbacks. 📚 If there's a book I regret not reading earlier is "The Founders Dilemmas". It's a complete collection of statistics, anecdotes, pitfalls and opportunities every founder can learn from. As far as I know, Noam Wasserman has the largest ongoing database of entrepreneurial cases. He periodically poses questions regarding the status of their companies, the personal trajectory, etc. to more than 10.000 people. The book intertwines statistical insights with personal stories, which makes it easier to read and more powerful to find a common ground. I know I've fallen in many of the pitfalls discussed in the book, some which could have been avoided with a bit of hindsight. This is a book I definitely recommend keeping at hand and periodically revisiting, especially as challenges evolve and you find yourself in different situations. 💡 Business Model Innovation: Value Migration Requires Changes In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, understanding value migration is crucial for any company aiming to stay ahead. Value migration occurs when the source of value within an industry shifts—whether due to changing customer needs, technological advancements, or new market entrants. This shift often necessitates a significant change in a company’s business model, which could involve either a transformation of the product or a redefinition of the target audience. 💖 Take Netflix, for example. Initially a DVD rental service, Netflix recognized the impending shift in value from physical media to digital streaming. By transitioning its business model to focus on streaming content, Netflix not only adapted its product but also expanded its target audience to include a global customer base with internet access. 🔍 However, adapting to value migration is not solely about altering the product or audience. In a competitive market, inefficiencies in business processes are vulnerabilities that competitors can exploit. Thus, continuous analysis and improvement of processes are essential to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce unnecessary costs, ensuring that the company remains efficient and competitive. 🏆 Innovation stems from repetitive creative ideation and evidence-based leadership! Each step of the innovation process should be approached with a mindset of trial and error, allowing data to guide decisions and steer the company in the direction of true value. ☝ 👉Successful innovation is often the result of persistent iteration rather than a single moment of inspiration. 👈☝ 🤯 History is replete with examples of companies that failed to embrace radical innovation and ultimately lost their place in the market. These companies were too engrossed in managing day-to-day operations and serving existing clients to envision future opportunities. This illustrates a critical point: today’s success can become tomorrow’s obstacle. At its core, a business model answers four fundamental questions: 😍 Who is your target customer? 🍊 What do you offer to the customer? ✨ How do you create the value proposition? 💎 How do you generate revenue? A true business model innovation involves changing at least two of these four dimensions. A fraction of these business model innovations introduced entirely new patterns, while the majority focused on adapting, refining, or combining existing ones. 🤔 Consider Amazon: they didn’t invent the online bookstore, but they mastered the art of recombining existing ideas to dominate the market. Similarly, Cisco, despite having minimal R&D resources, out-innovated AT&T’s Bell Labs by leveraging strategic acquisitions and partnerships. ⁉Now is the perfect moment to reassess your business with a fresh perspective. What will the future demand? It’s time to gather data, reevaluate your target audience, and experiment with innovative ways to create value.

Here's why👀 - 💡Before starting up, idea will be the King (yeah, that billion dollar idea)! 🎯But once we start doing, we realise how hard it is to execute that small thing and push it to the completion. 🤝Once we have a product ready, we start realising how hard it is to sell it. Most often we will have to go back and re-do everything. 💸Once we start to sell, we realise how hard it is to get that customer pay you. 🤗Once we start getting regular payments, we realise how hard it is to keep the customer coming back. 📈Once we get to that point, we realise how hard it is to make some good profits on it and scale it further! The problem is, nothing goes in straight line and everything which can possibly go wrong will go wrong when you start doing something. (yeah, Murphy wins!).
