Sbi Securities (Market Outlook for May Series - Roll-Over Snippets) Dear All, April Series clearly exhibited outperformance of Mid-caps & Small-Caps over Large-Caps, & we expect the individual stock specific action to continue going into the May Series, too. This was clearly visible as while Nifty traded almost with a flat bias, the market breadth within derivative segment was stronger with 69% single stock futures rising in April Series as compared to 46% advancing shares in March Series. Roll-Overs for the Nifty futures have been 65.12%, significantly lower compared to the previous month's 69.77% and the 3 month average of 71.40%. The most likely reason for the lower roll-overs/positioning could be the expectations of volatility ahead of the ongoing general elections. Also, the roll cost has declined to 0.31%, which is lower compared to the 3-Month average of 0.72%. Comparing with the previous trends during the past election years of 2009, 2014 & 2019, the Current Roll-over is lower then the rolls in April 2009 & 2019 where 74% & 81% roll-over of positions were witnessed. April 2019 Series, however, saw Nifty rolling over lesser positions to the tune of 59%. The long-short ratio based on FII index positions currently stands at 38.90% Tracking Seasonality, Over the past 17 years, May month has often exhibited a bullish trend for Nifty & Bank Nifty on majority of the occasions. Particularly striking is the trend observed during the previous 3 election years for May, where Nifty has recorded an impressive average return of 11% while Bank Nifty has witnessed a remarkable average return of 21.42% for the past 3 election years. Average volatility in May Series for Nifty in the past 17 years has been 8.7% while that for Bank Nifty would be 13%. Talking about Nifty levels, 22630-22650 zone will act as crucial resistance for the index. Any sustainable move above 22650 will lead to sharp upside rally upto 22880, followed by 23050 in the short term. While, on the downside, the 50-day SMA zone of 22200-22250 is likely to provide the cushion in case of any immediate decline. Any sustainable move below the level of 22200 will lead to profit booking in index upto 21940-21850 Sectors such as PSU Banks, Metal, CPSE, Chemicals, Consumer Durables and Auto are expected to outperform in the May Series while IT & Media could act as laggards. When I read this post of Feb 14, 2024 I wondered if I was smitten by the love bug for BJP😂😂😂 And some of the analysis that I undertook makes me laugh at myself - 80% vote share. Ludicrous me! But on a serious note I was not far apart when I stated that my minimum vote count was 399. And I provided a state by state count for that. (and now all the Exit polls seem to suggest the same) So why am I referring to this old post? Well it is to just validate my own thoughts. You know for over 5-6 months I have been writing on geo politics & India politics in particular. And LinkedIn has been my sounding board for my self learning. It was also an attempt to provide data on the BJP and Modi and enlighten (in my own small way) readers so that we could decimate the fake news that abounds us. #abkibaar450paar may sound like a stupid hashtag. Yes, and I have been trolled for that too. But I want you to refer to this post to understand from where this hashtag emerged. And the best way is to have you refer to this tweet image which shows that the INDI alliance can never win 295 seats as they are boldly stating because the maths only does not add up. Also in my wildest dreams I cannot work up the math where INDI alliance can get 100 seats. So 544-100 = 444. Also subtract 20 odd for the Independent candidates and you will get 420-424 for the NDA. And now we are only 10 hours away from the start of counting. So what if I get it right? No big deal. It was just an intellectual exercise that turned out right by fluke. But I would be happy that at least my rational thinking was in the right direction. What if I get it wrong? Well all the best psephologists also do not get it exact despite being in the field and having armies to collect and analyse data. So I stand vindicated. That is not to say that I am creating an escape avenue. That's just not me. So hang me if I get it wrong for being outlandish with #abkibaar450paar. But I know deep inside you would also be secretly wishing for the same. For sanatan civilization is really at stake. Thanks to these selfish politicians.

#SEBI proposes new asset class to fill gap between Mutual Funds (#MFs)and Portfolio Management Services (#PMS) The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has proposed to introduce a new asset class for investors, who want to put between Rs10 lakh and Rs50 lakh in differentiated investment strategies such as Long-short equity and Inverse Exchange Traded Funds, among others. Here's a detailed breakdown: 1. Minimum Ticket Size: Rs 10 lakh per AMC strategy. 2. Labeling: To be branded as 'strategies', not funds. 3. Eligibility: Only MFs with at least 3 years of operations and Rs 10,000 crore of AUM can launch these products. 4. Derivatives: Allowed for purposes other than hedging, but no leverage. 5. Examples: Long-short funds or Inverse ETFs. 6. Exposure Limits: Looser stock and sector exposure limits. 7. Advanced Flexibility: Greater freedom than PMS, including tax-efficient derivative use. 8. Retail Access: Derivatives-linked products, previously unavailable to retail investors via PMS, will now be accessible with a minimum investment of Rs 10 lakh (across multiple strategy funds). Interesting Pic for the Day : As capital allocator -if you want to take one decision - being positive on India and stayed invested in market yield 12% CAGR for last 32 years . Tremendous wealth got created with lot of noise in the interim period . On any 10 year period which in generally considered as very long term - investor ended positive performance with lowest range around 6% CAGR if you have invested in the peak of 2008 and high of 14 -15% CAGR ( Last 20 year period considered ) Last few year CAGR of index is around 15-16% clearly reflecting we are trending at the upper band . Valuation as a tool doesn't predict when the correction will come but gives you a very good sense of what is your likely 5-7 year return given the starting point in terms of valuation . As investor , we need to set realistic expectation of return going forward for next 1-2 years since the base is very high both in terms of corporate profit and valuation multiple . India’s equity indices fell nearly 1% on Tuesday, extending their fall to the second straight session as traders remained cautious amid heightened geopolitical tensions and ahead of the Wednesday release of US consumer price inflation (CPI) data. The prospect of lower-than-expected flows into HDFC Bank later this month, after the MSCI decided to raise the stock’s weight on its index in two tranches—in August-end and in November—also pulled down sentiment. The NSE Nifty fell 208 points or 0.85% to close at 24,139. The BSE Sensex declined 692.89 points or 0.87% to end at 78,956.03 on Tuesday. While the market started on a tentative note, the sell-off deepened on reports that the White House has warned that Iran or its proxies could launch an attack on Israel in the coming days. “A lot of factors like global uncertainties, geopolitical tensions and the latest report from Hindenburg have led to some caution in the market participants,” said Rajesh Palviya, head of technical and derivatives research at Axis Securities. At the time, I had just stepped into a people leadership role and, admittedly, had a very different (and narrow) perspective on what leadership meant. I was ranting to him about how my team was really small and i was not getting change to show any leadership and his response completely changed my perspective. Stopping BJP from getting absolute majority is what INDI Alliance has been tomtomming as a major victory. Lets run the math. BJP won 240 seats in 2024. In all 3 previous elections added together INC won 195 seats in all (2014 + 2019 + 2024). Even their combines score of 3 elections is not good enough to beat Modis lowest! And the irony of it is that they say they have won😂😂 And while they run memes from the INC X handle on mehengai during BJP government they have today evening increased by ₹ 3 /litre on petrol & diesel in Karnataka. Cess On Petrol To 29.84% From 25.92% Cess On Diesel To 18.44% From 14.34% Need to fund Butti Bhagya, Grihalakshmi freebies. Enjoy Hindus. Now inflation is going to go खटाखट.. फटाफट फटाफट. 💨💨 As if this was not enough, the disillusioned INC team believes that they now have a veritable chance of forming the government. NDA Alliance is at 303 vs their 241. And while the BJP was stopped short of simple majority, the coverage of BJP in ruling India has only gone up. Just check this map And while the the Muslims (18%) voted exclusively for INDI alliance exclusively in Vote Jih@d, they were able to get only 22-23% of the total vote share. Which means that while having a starting score of 18% they could only get 4-5% vote share on their own. W What a tragedy! Yes the INDI Alliance was able to split the Hindus vote to a large extent by using false informations. Yes they used the entire global forces of the West - print media. They restricted NDA candidates SM footprint while boosting their own. They used AI to influence voter mind. In fact they spent all their bullets to win #LS2024. They also had the added benefit of sourpuss BJP candidates (denied tickets) to spoil the BJP equation and the RSS (allies of BJP) working at cross purposes of their own interests. Yet they were not able to surpass the NDA seat count. In war you never use all your weapons. The Russians have not even used a fraction of their advanced weaponry in the Ukraine conflict. But the INC put everything that they had at stake. And yet they lost. And on top of it they are using the art of multiple repetitions to spin the narrative that they have won the elections. In psychological terms they are referred to as delusional. To understand the magnitude of Modi coming to power for the third time you have to understand that at the G7 Macron (France), Rishi Sunak (UK) Sholz (Germany) Justin Trudeau (Canada) Fumio Kishida (Japan) Joe Biden (lowest ever popular rating of 36%, USA) have either lost or are set to lose their seat to Right Wing Nationalist parties. In fact #Melodi - Modi and Meloni are the only two who will remain in power. And Modi has been around for 10 and will be around for another 5 years. He has been a right wing natiionalist despite global leftist forces holding sway on the global seat of power since the last decade. Ladies and Gentleman Modi won BIG!
