Great, quick listen on this “Build in Healthcare” podcast by a16z outlining the consumer health opportunities that can be advanced and accelerated with the help of technologists focusing on logistics, data, operations and consumer engagement. Agree with #Vijay Pande and #Daisy Wolf that it’s time to build in healthcare and that AI needs healthcare as much as healthcare needs AI. “The business model of UnitedHealth Group married with the consumer experience of Apple”…a truly compelling and achievable vertical integration strategy.

I have competed and partnered with Oracle my entire career - mostly in the enterprise - and would like to think I've been fairly successful in both. This is 100% the right strategy for Oracle and the industry. Its strange to think of Oracle as the David vs the Goliath of Epic (in the US Hospital market). However, they still had two massive advantages. 1. They have great technologists. 2. The have the capital to build from the ground up. This leverages both. Its like the original Oracle Fusion initiative, except in a market where the competitor is content to keep building on their own 30 year old core.
