Building life long friendships with administrators, faculty and staff gave me as a first generation college student the opportunity to learn more about the role they played in shaping the future of students but of the republic.

I held various offices within my fraternity, including president. I had the honor of being elected president of the Black Student Union and of receiving its highest honor, The Lyman T. Johnson Award. I also served as Vice president for the Student Organization Assemble an umbrella organization of all campus organizations. I was a work study student at the Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Center and the Eastern State Hospital and was the recipient of the Daniel Pitino Scholarship and the Minority Affairs Spirit Awards.
