Did you know that less than 1% of VC funds go to women of color? Why are we not hearing more about the Fearless Fund ruling - are we so afraid to speak out against injustice when we see it? Why are we not seeing more outrage that a law from the 1800s - originally designed to *help* the Black community post-slavery - is now being used as a justification to discriminate? This ruling is an ugly turn for an amazing organization which provides venture capital to Black and brown women to start new businesses. I am afraid for the future of this country if we need an Executive Order to protect and support those who need it the most. This ruling has been called a “rallying cry for all who value diversity, equity, and inclusion.” It’s time for all of us to speak up to ensure we have the diverse business landscape that would actually make this country great again. #fearlessfund #privateequity #dei #eeo #blm #founders

Unlocking Potential: New Insights on Black Women and Entrepreneurship Goldman Sachs' latest national survey, One Million Black Women: Empowering Entrepreneurs, sheds light on a transformative pathway for wealth creation among Black women. With 1,200 respondents, the survey reveals: 64% are optimistic about growing their wealth. 61% view entrepreneurship as a key avenue for wealth creation. 54% who don't currently own a business have considered starting one. However, systemic barriers persist. Key areas that need addressing include: 77% would start a business with better access to loans, grants, or seed funding. 71% seek business training courses or accelerator programs. 67% desire more networking opportunities. The survey underscores the urgent need for enhanced federal support and policy solutions to bolster Black women entrepreneurs. "Black women are starting businesses faster than any other demographic in our country. But these job creators need the know-how and resources to grow and scale," shares Asahi Pompey, Global Head of Corporate Engagement at Goldman Sachs.
