ENSCO Staff Scientist Jason Byrd is contributing to breakthroughs in parallel programming with his new paper "Massively Parallel Computational Chemistry with the Super Instruction Architecture and ACES4" in the Journal of Physical Chemistry! To fully harness modern large-scale computing systems, we need faster, more efficient ways to develop high-performance software. The Super Instruction Architecture (SIA) was designed to handle complex, data-intensive tasks—originally for quantum chemistry—and has now been upgraded in the new ACES4 platform. Bross is creating a modern and user-friendly thermodynamic database that can be accessed and further developed by the broader scientific community - https://bit.ly/3V3sQAY Bross, a 2024 Physical Sciences and Engineering Early Investigator Named Awardee has been working with his mentor, Argonne Distinguished Fellow Branko Ruscic, on a proposal titled “AI for Predictive Thermochemistry.” His project will involve looking at chemical species that are well-represented in the current data set, such as hydrocarbons, and using those to develop an artificial intelligence model that will make predictions about the uncertainty of the values for formation of those species. #AI #Thermochemistry
