Problem management can be used by a wide range of organizations to help improve the reliability of their online services – from a cloud provider providing infrastructure, platform or software solutions, though to an independent software vendor (ISV), or the end customer. This paper introduces problem management and the benefits organizations may derive from implementing a robust problem management framework. It frames problem management by comparing it to incident management and describes the difference between the two. It also provides several foundational concepts of effective problem management processes, and discusses examples of how these types of organizations might implement problem management, including root cause analysis, to help improve the reliability of their online services.

Well...I felt very clever when I "solved" the Git-based operations (GitOps) for Operators managed by Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) problem for a client and then wrote this article...and of course a couple days before publishing Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (ACM) OperatorPolicys (https://lnkd.in/eW8t9Bmp) goes GA. We are pleased to announce that you can now achieve up to an aggregate 1.3 million I/O operations per second (IOPS) and 12 GB/s throughput per OCI compute instance with the OCI Block Volume Service. In addition, you can also attach up to 32 Ultra High Performance (UHP) volumes to a single OCI compute instance. With the programmatic JWT access support in Snowpark Container Services out in public preview, I wrote a deep dive on how the network connections work in practice in SPCS: * Between containers in a service * Across services * From outside of Snowflake Everything is service-agnostic and relies on just the standard networking tools (netcat, telnet, curl, caddy). The connections are demonstrated using a special webshell image that allows inspecting the running container's environment from a standard bash shell. Bonus: JWT > access token exchange implementation in just bash and a couple of deps.
