Influence Definition: noun the capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something, or the effect itself. verb have an influence on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As Scrum Masters, our ability to learn the art of wielding influence is key.🔑 For most of us, our teams don't report directly to us nor are we even in the same organizational structure as them; however, we are the ones tasked with effecting change without any direct "power". Enter Influence🗣 Yes, Scrum Masters. Your ability to influence in order to enact change management tactics is your super power. It isn't just about performing the 5 Scrum Events: 1) 15 min. Daily Stand-ups 2) Grooming 3) Sprint Planning 4) Sprint Review 5) Sprint Retrospective It's about influencing your team to understand the purpose of each event, so that they adopt the behavior on their own to exact them.⚡ In short, is your goal to influence your teams to be so bad ass, a.k.a. autonomous, so that they no longer need you?🙋🏾‍♀️ How important is influence in your field, or in your personal life?
