Last week, we kicked off the 2024 #RevOps Workload and Compensation survey with Matthew Volm and Camela Thompson at the RevOps Co-op. While it's calibrating for RevOps, people across operations, Sales, and CS leadership can weigh in. The report will include insights into: - Compensation trends - Workload trends - Sales methodologies - Forecasting methodologies - How deal 1:1’s affect performance - How forecasting processes influence accuracy - How sales methodologies influence outcomes The team I worked with at Consensus (specifically John Cook) produced a similar report each year for the Presales function, and it was amazing to see how people responded to it. It turns out, we're all a little curious about how much we make relative to our peers, what those peers are spending their time on, and where we should focus to have a bigger impact. It’s always incredibly exciting to see how revenue organizations are winning with Gong's help, so it was extra exciting when Nick Lewis, Global Head of Revenue Enablement at Uber for Business, wrote about his experiences gaining performance insights, being able to make more objective decisions as an org, and increasing productivity. But it also wasn’t just as simple as productivity. Giving reps the ability to do their jobs better and more quickly was always part of the game plan, after all. What Nick didn’t realize was how significantly the technology would boost trust and empathy across Uber’s teams. His experience with Gong proves that AI and revenue intelligence are about more than only saving time and building data-driven workflows and coaching. It’s also about strengthening the person-to-person interactions that are at the foundation of every revenue team. I was thrilled to spend time with Cory Rose, Senior Vice President of People & Total Rewards at TAG - The Aspen Group. Previously, Cory served in Senior Director of People and/or Total Rewards roles at Chime, Udemy and Delivery Hero.    Here were some of the key takeaways from our conversation together:    - When Cory went to college, both of her parents said "go to college, and study whatever you want to study because everyone ultimately ends up in some sort of business". So, she ended up with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and a minor in cross cultural humanities and Africana studies. Cory has since maintained a fascination for different cultures and points of view, and this naturally led to her focusing her professional work on people.    - When asked about something Cory is doing that is controversial but effective, she explained that they decided to pause their quarterly engagement surveys and bi-annual performance reviews. This allowed them to critically evaluate the purpose of these processes and what they were trying to solve for as a business. By deconstructing both of these critical programs, they were able to reintroduce a more focused approach—conducting employee listening sessions annually with a stronger emphasis on action planning and rolling out a refreshed quarterly performance management process. This new process emphasizes not only the "what" and "how" but also includes regular expectation check-ins, ensuring that team members have clarity on their performance throughout the year. Cory's response highlights the idea that sometimes you need to slow down in order to move forward more effectively.   One question Cory wanted to leave our community with was this - "In a constrained budget environment, what is one area where you would not cut back?"
