I had a meeting with a channel rep yesterday where I shared some bad news. The results of a recent spend pulsing test looked strong in their attributed CPAs and suggested we should scale more. But high view through conversions in conjunction with previous incrementality results indicated that we should pull back budget. Their response: “we understand- we definitely want to drive incrementality for you. Let’s shift our optimization strategy to click only conversions to get you more incremental traffic.” Driving incrementality is about deploying dollars to people who would not have converted anyway. Whether conversions are attributed from a click or a view is irrelevant in the absence of a measurable incrementality test. And for platforms where people really don’t click on ads, a shift to click based optimization could be detrimental.

Did you see Ridge Gave away a gold plated cyber truck this year? 😱 You might have noticed a huge trend in eCommerce this year – giveaways. Some of the biggest names in the game are crushing it with this strategy: 🧼 Dr. Squatch gave away a Ford Bronco! 💀 Liquid Death went all out with an actual fighter jet! All of these brands gave customers entries to win just by purchasing their products. I know what you’re thinking – “Jordan, that sounds amazing, but we’re not a 9-figure brand...” Enter my buds at Shared Sweeps! 🎉 And before you ask… YES I’ve used them at one of my brands! I can’t believe I hadn’t told you guys about them before today!
