Living on the edge! How close is to close when it comes to SMT stencil aperture in relation to the stencil framing? There are a handful of reasons why stencil apertures can start to approach the foil to mesh bonding that attaches an SMT stencil to its frame: ♦️ A large PCB ♦️ Placing top and bottom images on the same stencil ♦️ Placing multiple assemblies on the same stencil ♦️ Screen printer frame size compatibility limitations All these considerations notwithstanding, it is a best practice to allow for a minimum of 50mm of space between the inside of the foil bonding and the start of the stencil apertures. Why??? ♦️ To allow space for your squeegees to travel without concern of riding atop the stencil bonding ♦️ To allow space for your paste! ♦️ Printing results can get dicey around the perimeter, especially true when over the top board clamps are in play. It's understood that sometimes this rule has to be broken. If your screen printer doesn't allow the use of a larger stencil frame, and you are working on a relatively large assembly, you are a bit stuck. No matter how many times I hear 👂someone say this phrase, it always makes me cringe. 😬 Yeah, I bet you know NOT enough to be dangerous, too! 😂 It happened quite a lot during all the networking I did in California this month! It’s almost as bad as when I hear, “it’s ok, we’re just doing this to BALLPARK, ⚾️🏟️ it doesn’t have to be ACCURATE.” No, but it probably does! Really only an *experienced* optical engineer can “ballpark” things sans catastrophe. 💥 It’s INCREDIBLY easy to mistake massive 🐘 changes for little 🤏 ones in optical systems. Multiple “little” errors quickly become non-sensical and worthless 🗑️ results in optics! This week, the spot price of 512Gb TLC wafer fell by 0.63% to $2.380.

In order to avoid subsequent inventory pressure, the three major suppliers are eager to get rid of their existing DDR4 chips, so #TrendForce believes that the spot price trend of DDR5 and DDR4 will be decoupled, and the price recovery will be difficult to occur in DDR4 products. The #Memory trading volume has decreased, the overall procurement of particulate gas has not grown, and most DRAM module producers have been slow to de-stock, so the current state of the market is not favourable for trading. However, the transaction momentum in the server #DRAM #RDIMM category is rather good, primarily because the original manufacturers' contract bids are relatively high, making the spot somewhat like buying petrol. Overall, there is some variability in the spot market's rise and fall trends for different terminal items, and the real terminal demand is the only basis for assessing the subsequent price trend. Over the course of the week, #DDR4 1Gx8 2666 MT/s had a 0.21% price increase (from US$1.945 to $1.949).
