Frequently, peer-to-peer marketing agencies ask me why I get involved in operations for my clients. Short answer: "I'm a hospital administrator with Lean Six Sigma training by background." Even shorter answer; "Duh." No matter how excellent your marketing is, it will only work when considering the patient experience. The patient experience is quite literally "operations." It is also your avenue to patient retention, word-of-mouth referrals, access via all entry points, knowledge of your target population, and fulfillment of your mission. As declining #Medicare Part D reimbursement for drugs continues to pose a challenge for pharmacies, finding new revenue streams becomes even more critical. There is a growing and disproportionate number of #T2D over the age of 65 and this won't be changing anytime soon! The below links represent an incredible collaboration between #NCPA and the #CDC to simplify and clarify the billing process for diabetes education. The CDC recently completed both the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Medical Billing Playbook for Pharmacies and the National Diabetes Prevention Program Medical Billing Playbook for Pharmacies.
