⭐ Driving inclusion forward: Honoring Disability Awareness Month ⭐ An inclusive environment starts with education and action. At Dentsply Sirona, our Employee Resource Group, ABLE@DS, is leading impactful initiatives that deepen understanding of the diverse experiences of people with disabilities. We recently hosted an online event featuring ambassadors from our Wellspect HealthCare brand who shared their personal journeys of living with a disability. This virtual panel offered attendees insights into the day-to-day challenges and triumphs of those with disabilities, fostering greater awareness and empathy. Through open discussions we were able to connect meaningfully, providing both inspiration and practical advice for creating a more inclusive society. Recently, we celebrated the success of STEPtember, where our global colleagues came together to take over 10 million steps and raise more than AUS$2,300 for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, an organization dedicated to supporting people with cerebral palsy and funding research into the condition. Together, we took meaningful steps towards a more inclusive future. 💪 On October 9, our location in Bensheim, Germany, had the honor of taking part in the nationwide “Schichtwechsel” campaign day for the first time! "Schichtwechsel," which translates to "Shift Change," is a German initiative aimed at promoting inclusion in the workplace. On this day, employees from the Behindertenhilfe Bergstraße gGmbH (bhb), a non-profit that supports people with disabilities, spent the day collaborating and exchanging with some of our production employees. A great initiative that breaks down barriers and paves the way for more inclusion in the world of work! 🌍✨ As we honored Disability Awareness Month this October, we celebrated the contributions of people with disabilities and emphasized the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and equity. Fostering true inclusion starts with learning. I just returned from VIVA 2024🫀 earlier this week and wanted to share key trends shaping vascular health innovation. It was such a good trip and one of my favorite vascular events of the year! This World Environment Day, we want to highlight our journey towards a greener future and share some key achievements and initiatives. 🌎 Our commitment to a Healthy Planet Our sustainability strategy “BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World” is based on three strategic pillars – Healthy Smiles, Healthy Planet and Healthy Business – out of which 2 focusing on people AND the planet. From reducing our environmental footprint to driving the change for the entire dentistry, we are dedicated to preserving our planet for future generations. We have made significant progress and achieved some of our 2025 targets, including reducing our combined Scope 1 and 2 GHG emission intensity by over 15% and lowering our water withdrawal intensity for manufacturing and warehouse operations by over 15%. 🦷 Leading the change in Sustainable Dentistry in partnership with the FDI World Dental Federation We have been partnering with the FDI World Dental Federation on the initiative "Sustainability in Dentistry" to increase awareness around the need to implement sustainable actions in the dentistry . As part of this we recently supported the creation of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). This comprehensive 3-hour course equips oral health professionals with knowledge and tools to embrace sustainable practices, setting a new standard for environmental responsibility within the field. 🌟 Going BEYOND for Diversity in Dentistry 🌟 Diversity, equity, and inclusion are part of our sustainability program BEYOND. Dentsply Sirona's partnership with the National Dental Association, Inc. (NDA), led by our BOLD@DS employee resource group, is one effort to advance diversity in the dental profession and expand reach to underserved populations. A highlight of the year was celebrating 8 NDA dentists of color who completed our Speaker Development Program this October. They were given access to structured speaker training for all levels of experience, aimed at elevating their voices and enabling them to represent within the industry through speaking opportunities. Other milestones from 2024 include: 🎓 At this year's annual convention, we Sponsored two educational courses, including a President’s Fireside Chat led by Dr. Jason Ford focusing on Digital Dentistry and a continuing education course by Dr. Phillip Saddler focusing on practice expansion with Clear Aligner Therapy, 🦷 Expanding our presence at the 2024 NDA Convention with two exhibits showcasing DS Solution: DS Core, CEREC technologies, Suresmile and Byte clear aligners, as well as Implant systems. 🌎 Welcoming the NDAs president Nicole Cheek at DS World in Las Vegas, facilitating important equity discussions and expansion of our partnership. As the partnership with the NDA enters its third year, I’m excited to see the progress we made and continue to make.
