Specifically, the RFP requires the coaching firm to provide the cost to administer 360 leadership assessments for around 100 leaders. Cost for group assessment interpretation sessions for groups of up to 20 leaders Hourly rate for individual coaching services. The organization will be billed for any other expenses. This indicates that while the coaching firm proposes pricing, the contracting organization has the final say in determining reasonable rates for the required services. The results do not explicitly differentiate between life coaching for personal development and executive/leadership coaching. We've been talking about POM—a powerful tool for leaders. Today, let's recap what we've learned and look at a few important things to keep in mind when implementing POM. POM is a framework for understanding three things—purpose, outcomes, methods—that are involved in anything humans do. Leaders should know how to use POM, because it is a tool for identifying misalignments so they can be corrected. It should also be used when planning, to prevent misalignments on projects. Let's talk a bit more about how POM can be used in the case of misalignments. Misalignment happens when people have different ideas about how something should be. These might be different understandings about the purpose, outcomes, or method. By using POM to walk through everyone's current understandings for a given project or activity, you can uncover the differences and work on building a shared understanding. As you start using POM, it's very important to remember that the order matters. Purpose first, outcomes second, and methods last. This isn't a matter of importance, but a matter of the order you need to go in. It has become the norm for people to start something by determining methods. But if you start with methods, that is dangerous—how do you know how to spend your resources if you don't know the outcomes you are going for? And how do you know the outcomes you are going for if you don't know the purpose? You could end up spending a lot of resources that you can't get back on something that doesn't move you closer to the outcomes you wanted. In a competitive situation, if someone else is spending their resources better, they win. But when you use POM in the right order, you'll be spending your resources in a way that brings you closer to your purpose-driven outcomes. POM is a simple tool, but it's powerful. When you use it, and use it in the right order, you're setting yourself and your team up for success. You'll have clarity on why you're doing something, what you're trying to achieve, and how you're going to get there. And if things start to go off track, POM gives you a framework to figure out where the misalignment is happening.
