Generic self-development coaching is hardly comparable to Emotional Intelligence executive coaching for leadership or physician burnout. For executive coaching services procured by organizations like Loudoun County, the payee (coaching firm) typically proposes pricing structures and rates, which the contracting organization negotiates and agrees upon. Specifically, the RFP requires the coaching firm to provide the cost to administer 360 leadership assessments for around 100 leaders. Cost for group assessment interpretation sessions for groups of up to 20 leaders Hourly rate for individual coaching services. The organization will be billed for any other expenses. This indicates that while the coaching firm proposes pricing, the contracting organization has the final say in determining reasonable rates for the required services. The results do not explicitly differentiate between life coaching for personal development and executive/leadership coaching. However, it is sensible to expect pricing structures to differ based on the coaching objectives, target audience, and specific services provided. Organizations would likely negotiate appropriate rates commensurate with the value and complexity of the coaching engagement. In summary, while the payee (coaching firm) can propose pricing, the contracting organization ultimately determines reasonable rates for the coaching services based on their requirements and budget constraints. In contrast, generic coaching for personal development is unlikely to produce the level of income that is typical for niche coaching for leadership, burnout or disruptive behavior.

5 things I learned at the ICF Midwest Coaches Conference this year.... ✔️ Speaking of difficulty, Amy Climer, Ph.D., CSP showed me that when we have a challenge that is high, but we don’t yet have the skill to meet the challenge, we feel anxiety. When we’re gaining the skill to meet the challenge, we can move from anxiety to excitement, and when we have both high challenges and high skills we feel flow. The analogy I have for this is when I shoot archery. Each arrow in the 1,2,3 or 4 ring help me learn how to adjust to hit the bullseye. It takes time, practice, and adjustment in a combination that allows you to reach flow. So give yourself the time to gain the skill to meet the challenges and embrace the discomfort. According to keynote Bridgette Simmonds PCC, CPC, ELI-MP that's what it means to be BOLD! ✔️ When we create a task list (my project management super power!) that becomes ever growing and requires reprioritizing all... the... time... it can create anxiety and take thought load. Instead, create a thought load list that is for the future. Then pull from it when you feel you can. ✔️ Complete regular energy audits. What raises your energy? What drains it? Counterbalance your time and energy. Yes, we all have energy sucking activities, but we don’t have to be there 100% of the time. ✔️ Learn and embrace who’s in your constellation, and where you currently are within it. Set intention for where you want to move. ✔️ Liane Davey reminded us that conflict is a process, having a grievance is not. Her favorite quote resonated with me. “Resentment is a poison that you’re hoping another person will swallow” Nelson Mandela.  Conflict creates tension. If you avoid it you create conflict debt.
