There is a risk that it drops, but that is not a weakness as of the latest reporting. 💸 That said, one thing which is a struggle for retailers is MARGIN. Labor costs are up and inflation is hitting supply side hard. Consumers are hunting value right now more than usual, so there is a lot of pressure from both sides squeezing out the margin. I go shopping every Friday. Well, not exactly.     Every Friday, I go to a different retail store to observe how people shop for and interact with our products, and what they like and dislike.   Dan Frommer's recent trends report stresses the importance of understanding your consumer's behavior when looking at the successful rise of new beauty brands among younger consumers. Brands founded since 2014 now account for 40% of sales at major beauty retailers, and they are succeeding because they focus on understanding what Gen Z and Millennial consumers want – highlighted by authenticity in messaging while actively engaging with their younger consumers.   This shift in the consumer mindset is why I keep going back to how consumer behavior and experiences aren’t static, and how it’s our job to stay ahead of these changes. FRAUDULENT PRODUCTS: WHAT WOULD YOU DO? As one of the preeminent brands in dog toys, we've grown to expect knockoff products. But even we were a little surprised to learn that a factory in China is duplicating our products. These products end up on various marketplaces, including Amazon in the USA. Hunting these knockoffs down is costly and time consuming to us, and potentially harmful to consumers. So, what would you do? 1. Do nothing, presuming the problem does not become too big 2. Spend time and money pursuing these outfits, realizing it's a game of "whack-a-mole" 3. Demand ecommerce marketplaces get invoved and verify our products are genuine 4. Create a public outcry and embarrass those who are stealing our intellectual property 5. Educate our consumers as to how to identify counterfeits. Please respond in the comment section below. Key EMARKETER stat: 27% of UK and US adults plan to start buying holiday gifts as early as October, according to an April 2024 survey from Salsify.  Beyond the chart: Amazon has encouraged early holiday shopping behavior with the launch of Prime Big Deal Days, formerly known as the Prime Early Access sale. In October 2023, consumers spent $5.90 billion during the sales event. Cyber Five is still a draw for shoppers looking for seasonal deals, with 62% planning to shop on Black Friday, per Salsify. Cyber Five’s share of total ecommerce sales has dipped from the 20.0% peak it hit in 2019. This year, we forecast Cyber Five to make up 15.7% of holiday ecommerce sales, bringing in a total of $42.66 billion in the US.
