Did you know that about half of high-intensity home-based primary care (HBPC) in #Medicare is provided by nurse practitioners (NPs)? Research shows that #NPs often care for sicker patients, with higher rates of hospitalization, emergency department use, and mortality compared to physicians. Interestingly, the quality of care is generally comparable between NPs and physicians, except for end-of-life care—where #NP patients show greater hospice utilization. So a regulation changed again (no surprise, we’ve had 4 major federal changes this year!)—and once you’ve finalized your updated policies, procedures, BAAs, NPPs or other documentation, it’s time to train your staff.... 👀 Review your training to identify gaps between existing training and updated regulations.
