So I heard about the FTC ruling today that affects business owners, influencers, product reviewers, ect. This new ruling is after false/fake reviews and now there is a way to report them. I’m curious how this will tie into Carrier411’s refusal to delete freight guards considering a healthy portion of them are “false” in a sense. I figure this will also hinder a lot of business as a lot of the reviews you see on websites are fake or false which is now reportable to the FTC. However, I have seen SEVERAL post recently about getting a freight guard for XYZ, but not a single one of those freight guards were replied to in the given time period. The importance of replying makes a world of difference. You’ve got to make sure your FMCSA contact information is up to date or you at least have access to the email on your FMCSA account. Another thing that I believe most brokerages will adopt, is just because the freight guard is there they have said the data will be cleared, it will just show as a freight guard. I’m curious to see if it shows up as a replied to freight guard if deleted.

Alex Simonson Good day everybody! I have a question. So my drivers got loaded at a Redbull Facility in AZ and they were supposed to deliver in NE. They went to the receiver and found out some of the pallets fell. They basically rejected the load. What happened was Redbull in AZ didnt secure the pallets properly. If it had been our drivers' fault, the pallets in the back had to fall but no. Only a few smaller pallets in the middle which were not secured properly by the shipper fell. The shipper themselves set the seal, so my drivers could even see how they loaded and secured the shipment. So that being said, the brokers from @FreightEx Freight Services with MC#609862 are threatening to open a cargo claim if we dont deliver the load back to AZ facility for free. How in the world they think we need to run for free with their damaged freight which was not secured by the shipper? How long can we as carriers bear this burden from this kind of brokers? I will be on myself every time. 7.8% of all workers in the USA are 1099 and sole proprietors. The other 92.2% are salaried or paid by the hour. I put us risk-takers in a class by ourselves. I was paid minimum wage only for 25 years in the car business because it was the law ($4.25 an hour). Never taking a draw check, and taking one paycheck a month, my commissions. So, I never had to see an hourly check because my commissions were always exceeded. When I took on my client in GA, I structured the comp similarly. Don’t pay me a salary or a monthly guarantee; pay me only based on my performance. If I were to take a job at a 3PL, I would take only minimum wage (by law, they must pay you at least that). I want to be paid a fair comp on my or my team's results. This is how C-Suite folks comp is structured. Comp is results-driven. If I don’t produce, I deserve nothing. If I do, pay me well on the results. Video emails. The most powerful video I have ever produced for prospecting is a 1-minute and 45-second video. The video shows 20 seconds of me talking; the rest are some of my client's cameo appearances. I'm saying not to take my word; take the word of those I have helped. I scrutinize my work product and know it's better than my competition. 3 clients are easily recognizable companies. One testimony of how I navigated them through COVID-19 and what I do for them today. “I don’t know how we would have made it without John. He is a blessing.” - Fortune 500 company. “John brought us dedicated capacity that teams helping us exceed our client's expectations.” - 2nd largest consolidator in the USA “John means what he says. If your lights are on, his are too. We operate 24/7, and John is always available. He responds in seconds day or night.”- 162-year-old company VP “John has never missed a USDA delivery. He always exceeds expectations. During Covid when things were out of control, no public school ran out of ground beef. John worked day and night to ensure meeting the EDD dates.” - USDA School Lunch Program bid administrator. “Native American Indian tribes were suffering during Covid. John stepped in and coordinated the delivery of hand sanitizer, masks, and other life-saving PPE.” - Sovereign Partners and Hopie Tribe Counsel. They say a 1-minute video is equivalent to 1000 word emails. ⬅️ I believe that. Think about it. If you were interested in purchasing a car and I told you it was clean versus a walk-around video showing it was clean, which has more impact? The video. Since 2nd/3rd quarter of 2022 we’ve been in this freight recession. We’ve all been waiting and even suggesting that maybe a turnaround was imminent. That hasn’t occurred. Will it? One would hope but if you follow certain industry sources & metrics it would appear that maybe this has become the norm and will be until we see changes in the economy. A new administration will take office come January and by then I have to imagine the Fed will make another rate cut. Keep in mind rate cuts take time to work their way through the markets. Businesses now have some certainty with the election behind us, however looking at my data points, we have a way to go. A constant theme I read from CEO’s was “cautious, challenging, softness in the freight environment.” While my list isn’t exhaustive, these are the main sources I view first.
