How can job descriptions improve your interview process?
Somehow along the way, many have forgotten that the most important job benefit to most people is compensation. It's critical to transparency and equity that all job descriptions should include the compensation range. And ranges should be appropriately wide so candidates can get a true sense for the pay for the role. Benefits are important, future growth opportunities are great but first and foremost people need to understand how they will be compensated for the value they create for an organization.

How can you make video interviews as effective as in-person interviews?
For any interview, regardless of in person or remote, a structured and consistent approach is key. Very is a fully distributed company so all of our interviews are done through Zoom. Each time we are ramping a search, we take the time to define an interview plan and what is assessed at each stage. This ensures that we are aligned on the critical attributes for the role. With any remote environment, you want to set clear expectations of the output of the time together and the format so the candidate can prepare and frame appropriately.

How do you celebrate team success?
Our quarterly Firesides are the perfect place for both formal and informal celebration of our team's successes and milestones. We have a program created by the Executive team highlighting wins as well as an open Applause round towards the end of the program. Our team is encouraged to come off mute and shout out their teammates in front of the organization for their wins. This creates a balance of recognition both top down and organically through the company.
