What are some ways to improve teamwork in Lead Generation?
It starts with cross-functional alignment between marketing and sales on the unit economics. Marketing and sales leadership must be aligned with finance on what metrics matter and what the definition of success is. The best exercise to create this alignment is building a bottoms-up revenue model. Here's where you start: - Break revenue productivity into three buckets. Marketing (inbound), Sales Development (inbound/outbound), and Account Executives. - Figure out the following metrics for each bucket: 1. Avg. cost per lead 2. Avg. sales cycle 3. Avg. sales price 4. Avg. close rate 5. Avg. rep ramp time Once you know this, poor gas on lead gen efforts that are most efficient. Measure monthly, quarterly, and repeat the exercise quarterly.
