  • Identification of named entities on tweets

    • Using Conditional Random Fields implemented Named Entity Recognition(NER) with BIO-tagging on the Twitter dataset.
    • Performed a comparison between Logistic Regression and CRF with structured perceptron for training and Viterbi for decoding.
    • Observed an increase of 7% accuracy on performing feature engineering with features like Nouns, Punctuations, and Lexicons.

  • Inference Engine

    • Built a simplified version of ProLog like inference engine with a first-order logic resolution to answer specific queries.
    • Knowledgebase contained “not”, “and” & “or” operators and the engine was used to answer boolean queries.
    • The inference engine was used as a component of an extended expert system to establish identities and relations.

    • The goal was to build an intelligent AI game agent that chooses from a matrix of fruits with points to maximize the player’s score.
    • Developed a minimax agent with alpha-beta pruning to make the best next move in the game.
    • Added difficulty levels mimicking gravity on fruit selection and worked on tight decision-making timeline.

  • Fuzzy Logic Systems

    Applied fuzzy logic on various databases and generated a rule base on Scilab to determine what amount of tip should be given to what type of food and services combinations, with a fellow student.

    • Created web application with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL to replace a software used in the pathology lab.
    • Added end to end functionalities like creating a report; inserting doctor information, patients history, new report format; printing report.
    • Provided options for sending reports to doctors by email, WhatsApp message, calculation of monthly revenue, etc.

  • Multi-Class Clothing Review Classifier

    • Led a team of 4 to build a multi-stage multi-class Classifier for a Clothing Review System on self-annotated data.
    • Based on selected features the classifier identifies characteristics of best-selling apparel using LogReg and SVM algorithms.
    • Established an accuracy of 83% on the product description and customer reviews with a resulting model F1-score of 0.74 on test data.

  • Sport recommendation system

    • Objective was to identify user’s sports interest while maintaining an engaging conversation.
    • System was built in Python with grammar database for better communication and log files to support self-learning.
    • Attained 70% user approval for recommendations and observed incremental efficiency with more interactions.
