M&A or bust.. time to join forces . . . Accounting firm Forvis has acquired the US unit of Mazars, creating a new global partnership. This deal is part of a larger trend of accounting firms changing their structure to stay competitive. Forvis and Mazars will combine their resources to create a global network with nearly $5 billion in annual revenue. The partnership will allow Mazars to expand its US presence and Forvis to go international. The deal includes Mazars' 1,000-person US workforce, including 100 partners, joining Forvis. The combined firm will have 7,700 people in the US and over 40,000 globally. This move is seen as a way for Forvis and Mazars to stay competitive in a changing market, where accounting firms are facing greater capital needs and recruitment challenges. The firms plan to boost hiring and consider new acquisition opportunities in the future.
