The National Charity League Inc. is a charitable non-profit organization that has mother and daughter members in Chapters in the United States. It's wonderful to give back, "give where you live" as mother-daughter teams serving our community across many causes and organizations like: Mobile Loaves and Fishes, Museums, Parks, Central Texas Food Bank, Retirement Homes, to name a few.

I was proud to be a Mentor to a young lady, via the Big Sister program at Covenant House in NYC for kids who left their homes for one reason or another. My Mentee, J, brought laughter and smiles to my face and gave me a sense of helping and making a difference in this world- providing hope, friendship, advice when asked. We kept in touch even after she left the Covenant House.

    Sandy Relief Giving Gala

    Disaster and Humanitarian Relief

I planned, organized and produced a "Giving Gala" to raise funds to send to relief for the victims of the Sandy Hurricane. I got people to participate as service and product based sponsors/donors to give of their companies so we'd have a fun experience and food/wine/prosecco that night, as well as have good raffle prize items. It was a success. I then found a great children's organization for Sandy, which doubled/matched it's donations so I was able to double our combined efforts in financial…

That made me happy!

  • Packed & Handed out Food Bags & Hot Chocolate

    Emergency Food Program

    Poverty Alleviation

I, with my husband and 2 children, would go to Stephen Wise Free Synagogue on many Saturday mornings to prepare food bags and hot chocolate. The kids would hand a filled grocery bag & 2 cups of hot chocolate per person in line, and say "Thank you for coming". It was fun to do with other families and other volunteers, gratifying to help those less fortunate than us always have some food for the week and something warm to drink. It was also a great lesson and experience for our young children…

It was fun to do with other families and other volunteers, gratifying to help those less fortunate than us always have some food for the week and something warm to drink. It was also a great lesson and experience for our young children illustrated by the answer to "How did you feel doing this?" as "I felt like an angel". That warmed my heart.
