Projects

  • Integrated In-Home Detention / Juvenile Intensive Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Program

    -

Assisted in the creation and management of Philadelphia's first integrated In-Home Detention (IHD) / Juvenile Intensive Outpatient (IOP) drug and alcohol therapy program.
I was also responsible for maintaining a weekly census of all clients receiving services from NET IHD that are enrolled in various NET IOP sites (adult or juvenile), and submitting it to NET Administrators.

Helped facilitate NET's development as a provider of IHD and IOP services to Philadelphia Family Court's Juvenile Drug Treatment Court program. I became a dedicated liaison to this program, providing updated reports, as well as treatment and sanction recommendations based on client performance in the program. This opportunity has allowed me to further enhance my ability to synthesize information and think-on-my-feet as I am consistently required to adjust recommendations in light of new information presented in court.

  • Sports for Juvenile Justice

Sports for Juvenile Justice is an initiative through Philadelphia's Juvenile Probation department, with backing from the Palmer Group (investment firm), and assistance from Custom Ed and University of Penn.

This project analyzed the impact SJJ had on NET IHD client discharge outcomes, with special emphasis on clients in the 22nd police district (an area targeted by the Mayor's office for youth violence prevention).

  • Database Creation/Management

    -

I took a paper based file/intake system and completely digitized it, reducing lapses in services, providing services more efficiently, and allowing staff to have a broader view of the program. Specifically, to obtain intake information, Administration and Youth Workers no longer had to come to the NET headquarters; Youth Workers and Administration were instead emailed a scanned copy of the client intake. This has greatly reduced lapses in service for clients and has allowed Administrators…

This has greatly reduced lapses in service for clients and has allowed Administrators easier access to client information, especially when discussing clients with cooperating entities (probation, lawyers, etc.)

The database tracks over 75 data points for over 1000 clients that have come into contact with the NET IHD program since 2011.

The data I compiled within the database I analyzed and formulated into a report for a Request For Proposals (RFP) that went on to get a lucrative contract awarded to NET for an Evening Reporting Center.

  • The Big Idea: Community Based Detention Services

    -

The Big Idea: Community Based Detention Services, is a Prezzi I designed for NET IHD when we hosted a delegation of Moroccan judges interested in community-based detention services, and how these services could translate into the Moroccan juvenile justice system.

  • Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative

    -

The Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) reached out to NET IHD to get a further understanding of the success In-Home Detention and other community based detention initiatives has on client outcomes, as well as other points of interest. I compiled a statistical report of all clients serviced in 2010, including demographic information, positive/negative discharges and rearrest rates.
