The analysis into voter choices for the 2024 election continues apace. The media pundits who were most invested in a Kamala Harris victory, such the talking heads at MSNBC are trying hard to understand what kind of a country we are now living in whereby voters would elect a convicted felon who tried to overturn a free and fair election. Although quite a bit of blame is being ascribed to sexism and racism, the fact that the most obvious voting pattern was college educated versus non-college educated voters. The left feeling vindicated that Democrats appear to be the party of "intelligent" voters and Republicans tend to be one with lower IQ's. While the pattern described above is generally accurate, interpreting the results may not be as simple as just saying the smarter you are the more likely you are to vote for Democrats. Back in 2013 Psychology Today ran an article titled "Intelligence and Politics Have a Complex Relationship." The article suggests that studies focusing on how liberals versus conservatives vote produced some paradoxes. While liberals in America were more likely to have higher IQ's than conservatives, there was evidence that the "most intelligent" voters tended to be "libertarian." That is, people whose politics was not informed by rigid left or right ideology, but was informed by a desire to have less regulation and more freedom to choose from a basket of political viewpoints. Or, to put another way, they were less likely to be "one issue" voters. Looking at the issue of why people chose to vote for Trump as opposed to Harris therefore, perhaps could be best looked at from the standpoint of which candidate appeared more "pragmatic" as opposed to just liberal or conservative. Perhaps the key to Trump's success with voters was his favoring pragmatism and less regulation in solving the nation's problems. Donald Trump is pragmatic to a fault. Which is why you will find the most vehement Never Trumpers on both the far left and the far right. Who attack him for having contradictory positions. But, what voters see is a politician for whom the outcome is more important than the constituent parts. If building a strong economy requires a combination of protectionism, deregulation, and tax cuts then that's what he will do. Even if some of these approaches temporarily move in opposite directions. Biden ran in 2020 as a "moderate" but I think his success against Trump was not his "moderation" but his promise to bring "competence" back to a chaotic situation caused by Covid and economic dislocations resulting from lockdowns. I think ultimately that is what can bring the two sides of the political spectrum back together. That is, rallying around competent government that is less ideological not more so. And this is precisely where Democrats have failed. The voters are rejecting progressive politicians precisely because they have failed to deliver competent government.

If Dr. Anthony Fauci has committed perjury, defrauded the state, or assisted laboratories in committing fraud or other crimes, it is imperative that he faces the full consequences under the law. Upholding the rule of law is crucial for maintaining public trust and accountability, regardless of an individual's position or reputation. Perjury, which involves lying under oath, undermines the judicial process and the integrity of legal proceedings. If Dr. Fauci is found to have engaged in such conduct, it is essential that the justice system treats this with the utmost seriousness to preserve the integrity of legal processes. Similarly, defrauding the state represents a severe breach of public trust and misuse of government resources. Any evidence indicating that Dr. Fauci has participated in or facilitated fraudulent activities must be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate legal actions must be taken. Moreover, aiding laboratories in committing fraud or other crimes, such as falsifying research data or violating safety protocols, poses significant risks to public health and safety. It is crucial that any involvement in such activities be addressed promptly and decisively to prevent further harm and ensure accountability. In all these cases, the principles of justice demand that no individual, regardless of their status or contributions, is above the law. Ensuring that Dr. Fauci, or any other individual, is held accountable for illegal actions is essential for upholding the rule of law and maintaining public confidence in the legal and governmental institutions.

News Report from the Washington Examiner Filibuster flip-flop: Senate Democrats ready to embrace tool to stonewall Trump Why should anyone be surprised? Democrats will use whatever tools they have in their toolbelt to obtain their desired results. When it looked like Democrats might gain control of the presidency, the Senate and the House in 2024, the word of the day was that the filibuster would be the first casualty of the new regime. Chuck Schumer has been known for his entire time as Majority Leader to be open to changing the rules if it suited him. Just like Harry Reid before him. Reid broke with tradition on approving Supreme Court Justices by making their confirmation a matter of majority vote instead of 60. Of course this gambit backfired, as Republicans warned it might. But, Reid figured it was what suited his purposes at the time, just as Chuck Schumer promised to kill the filibuster if he had the power. Of course, you will hear from Democrats "Republicans do it too." That is use the rules to their favor. Like Mitch McConnell holding up Merrick Garland's confirmation hearings until after the 2016 election just in case Trump won. Democrats have never forgotten or forgiven that. Especially since it gave Trump an extra Justice nomination to play with. But, despite the cry that "everyone does it." Let me point out the hypocrisy this exposes for Democrats. Democrats claim to be the party of democracy. Democracy in their orbit being narrowly defined as having 51% of support for what they want to do. So, when Democrats threatened to abolish the filibuster, they didn't claim to be doing so for "raw power." They were doing it because the filibuster is "undemocratic." Meaning it allows a small group of obstructionists to prevent the majority from passing any laws unless they have 60 votes. And frankly getting 60 votes for anything in the Senate these days is virtually impossible. So fine, this little turn of events is not shocking. Democrats used "total resistance" to Trump to block his agenda in his first term. Even though Trump will be free of threats of impeachment and endless investigations at least in his first two years of office. It is likely that he is not going to get a lot of legislation done. Hence, in a sense the Democrats will be forcing him to make his changes to government by fiat, i.e. Executive Order. But, count on when Trump starts issuing Executive Orders on day one, he will be accused of acting like a "dictator." Talk about a Democrat "self-fulfilling prophesy." Trump didn't run for a second term just to be a figurehead. He promised his voters change and he seems quite intent on keeping that promise. If the Democrats adopt the position, even before Trump gets into office, that their sole purpose in life will be to be sand in the gears of government. They should not expect Trump to just lie down and take it. He will use his pen, just like Joe Biden and Obama did.

Here is a Facebook Memory of mine from November 11, 2021. If you want to know why Democrats lost in 2024. You can see the roots of the reasons in my essay. November 11, 2021 I posted earlier today that government policies under Joe Biden are driving inflation and cutting "real" earning power of wages. The White House, Press Secretary, cabinet, and Congress seem oblivious to this and continue to pursue policies likely to worsen inflation. The question is, why would they do this when economists say pursuing yet another huge spending program is only going to make matters worse? The answer from the WSJ was simple. They are in denial because to admit economic pain is the fault of Democrat policies is too politically unpalatable. Hence, all we are seeing right now is deflection and denial. If you look at a range of issues, one could deduce that deflection and denial, is the theme of the Biden administration. On the issues of the immigration crisis at the border, the Afghan exit, and the rapid decline in Biden's poll numbers, the general response seems to be a shrug. All of the setbacks are being treated as "transitory" stories that the public will tire of, and that will be in the rear view mirror once the Build Back Better bill is passed. But, even assuming that Democrats are right and that the public's short memory will serve to insulate them from long term political harm, is this really a healthy response. Following setbacks, generally what politicians like to say to assure the public that they understand the frustration is, "I take full responsibility." You hear that phrase a lot these days, but really what does it actually mean? Apparently, not much if following making the statement, the President and the Democrats just "move on" without really addressing the issue. Perhaps that is why the poll numbers for Biden are down. Precisely because he didn't take full responsibility for fixing anything. Take the latest news alert I got this morning from the Washington Post, one of Joe Biden's biggest cheerleaders. The Post is happy to report that since the Biden administration resumed removal of Haitian migrants back to Haiti, illegal immigration by Haitians at the border has dropped by 90%. The Post may think this makes it sound like Biden's policies are succeeding, but to me it sounds like "enforcement of our immigration laws actually works." The question then is, if they work, why weren't they tried before 2 million migrants entered the U.S. illegally since Biden was elected? And frankly, even if Haitian migration is down, that doesn't seem to be denting the size of the caravans making their way up through Mexico. Perhaps enforcement might work there too. But, then that wouldn't sit well with the progressives who seem in full control of immigration policy. In short, denial is not a governing style that works well when the majority of Americans think the country is going in the wrong direction.

Just a note about the media frenzy following Trump's announcement that he plans to nominate Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. The premise of all of the ire this announcement has raised is that it demonstrates to those who have been predicting that Trump will weaponize the DOJ against his political enemies has come true. That Gaetz, who is known to be a right-wing bomb thrower is precisely the kind of person who would carry out such a plan. Even the WSJ echoes this sentiment in an editorial, saying that the Gaetz pick is a bad choice precisely because "his calls on difficult questions of whom to investigate and indict simply wouldn't be trusted." I suppose the question is, trusted by who? Frankly, I doubt that ANY person that Trump selected as AG would face similar doubts. Unless of course, Trump were to nominate a Democrat or a Republican Never Trumper. But, as Judge Jeanene Piro points out, no President in recent memory ever put an AG in the job who they didn't absolutely trust. The last time, perhaps this was done, was when Bill Clinton put Janet Reno in the job, and then spent most of his administration wishing he hadn't. Reno was too independent and actually ran the DOJ independent of political considerations. Something neither Barack Obama or Joe Biden were willing to do. As in spare me the argument that Merrick Garland's DOJ is "independent" of the White House. Sure, and all those FBI and DOJ investigations into Trump and his associates were just a figment of my imagination. The question I would ask is whether leftwing "projections" onto Trump and Gaetz that they will go after their political enemies the way AG Garland went after them is belied by everything Trump and Gaetz have said on the subject. Both are committed to getting politics out of the DOJ. There is plenty of crime for the DOJ to pursue that Biden and Garland have allowed to flourish. The Mexican Cartels doing business in the U.S. for example. Drug trafficking. Human trafficking. Child sexual exploitation. All these deserve to be addressed. And all of them are high priorities based on Trump's campaign promises. Why assume, wrongly, that Trump would not deliver on his promises? This is just typical media and Democrat propaganda to "speculate" what Trump is thinking. And assuming the worst case scenario of what he would do. We have seen this play before. Why be fooled again? I don't worry, like the WSJ does, over the "optics" of having an aggressive watch dog over the DOJ. I think it is long overdue. Time to get back to old fashioned policing and go after the "real" criminals. Instead of spending all of the DOJ's resources on white collar political crimes by its political enemies.

I'll show you some political correctness !!! Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a damn job. Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligation's. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job. Nothing the matter with a vasectomy for all of the volunteer fathers who don't support their children!! Baby's momma and daddy need to get a job! Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360,then get a job and your own place. In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. That's right, if I have to work, guess what, you are too! It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22-inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good." Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. What part of this do you not understand! Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem. And if you’re in jail, to get the extra things you want, you have a job in there too. If you don’t want to work, put all of them in a cell block together and they will end up killing each other! I know that’s cold but they really didn’t learn from the mistake that put them there and if they did they would work to get themselves out of there. I know, that’s to simple for some of you but as Mr Ray Danner alway said, KISS! Keep it simple stupid! If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices. AND While you are on Government subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Government welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job. Now there's some political correctness for you!

HUGE: Leaked Conversation Between Arizona’s Democrat Gov, Attorney General, and Secretary of State Reveals Attempt to Cover Up 98,000 Voter Registration Glitch – Officials Worried About Calls for New 2020 and 2022 Elections Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes admitted that “all of these elections are challengeable” as a result of the state not verifying voters’ citizenship. Still, it is unclear who leaked the phone call. This could have been a staged phone call and “leak” to the regime media in order to make it seem as though the officials were doing their best to ensure election integrity and transparency. I think this last paragraph is the key to understanding how Democrats are approaching the issue of election integrity and claims about protecting democracy. I am beginning to have a theory that these kinds of stories are being leaked, not to reassure voters that our elections are fair and honest, but to send the opposite message. That is, to plant the seeds in the minds of voters that their votes don't really count. That those who are responsible for running the elections and counting the votes will decide the election. And so, an individual voter's preference for a candidate is less important than a ballot is untethered to any registered or eligible voter. If indeed, the proverbial "grave yard" can decide elections, why bother to fight the system. The system will just decide how many votes it needs, and produce them. I do believe the undermining of the confidence in our elections is a threat to democracy. But, it isn't by those who are questioning the elections. It is by those who through their words and actions imply that they can fix elections with impunity. That the courts can't help you. The state legislators can't help you. And so, just accept that your honest vote is like spitting into an ocean of fraudulent votes. So, don't bother. Of course, if Democrats win the presidency in 2024 and get control of the House and the Senate, then one of their first actions will be to revive Nancy Pelosi's HR-1 election reforms. In a nutshell, these "reforms" will codify all of the processes by which Democrats have managed to win elections. And nationalize the rules. In this fashion, Democrats will never again have to worry about individual states passing election integrity laws requiring government issued ID's or proof of citizenship. Those requirements will be outlawed in an effort to "prevent Republican voter suppression" and make voting easier. Like the commercial says, "so easy even a caveman could do it." Or in the case of Democrats, a dead person or an alien.
