Men have ruled over humanity for millennia, and nowhere has their dominance been more pronounced than over the lives and bodies of women. Although women have made great strides toward equality in the last few decades, they continue to be held to a different standard than men, and society holds many unconscious and deeply rooted biases against them. If you follow me, you’ve seen my posts bragging about generating breakthrough media coverage. No doubt, it’s important. But just as important is counseling clients on how to dominate the discussion. How to set agendas and own dialogues. How to be the thought leader that customers, partners, reporters, analysts, investors, scholars and government officials turn to, to understand the zeitgeist of key publics and key industries. I wrote about ARM yesterday - that’s what we did with them. Challenged them to own mobile, and later data centers. To dare to be the dominant voice to set an industry agenda. That’s not a one-off. With every client served, that’s the nexus of the campaigns we lead - understand your strength and put it to work. TV, Google or social media? The folks at Society22 and Censuswide conducted a study to find out which channels have the most influence on U.S. consumers. Notably, most respondents were able to name the sources of brand information for the last five products they purchased ✅ Internet searches came out on top (36%). This was followed by recommendations from family or friends (30%), brand advertising on TV or radio (25%), social media advertising (23%), and brand stories from other content creators or influencers (20%). When it comes to what most often inspires US consumers to make a purchase, YouTube leads the way (37%), followed by TV commercials (36%), offline sources such as friends, family and in-store displays (35%), Facebook (30%) and TikTok (26%). ➡️ The main conclusion of the researchers is that in order to influence purchase decisions through content, brands need to tailor it to their target audience. I would add that regardless of which channel your audience chooses, be mindful of your reputation. Don't skimp on content creation, manage negative feedback effectively, and word of mouth will work for you, both online and offline. #Research #SocialMedia #ReputationExpert

Visual communications is the future and we all need to get on board. This quote in particular from Luciana Paulise, MBA, PCC, CQE in her Forbes article makes me think of how my 5th grade son will influence and lead when he enters the workforce in 2035. He's already a Canva power user -- just think of what he'll create by the time he's in high school, and how he'll put this skill to use in the workforce. "Visual communication enhances the clarity and impact of a leader's message, making sure that key points are easily understood and remembered by the audience. This synergy allows assertive leaders to effectively convey their vision, motivate their team, and drive engagement, which is particularly important in today's fast-paced environment where attention spans are shorter and clear, impactful communication is essential."
