Military Veterans, A VA (Veterans Affairs) advocate plays a crucial role in assisting individuals with their VA business by providing support and guidance through the often-complex processes involved in accessing benefits and services. Here are some ways in which a VA advocate can help: Available at every medical center, Patient Advocates are highly trained professionals who can help resolve your concerns about any aspect of your health care. Click link: https://lnkd.in/eN5PMigQ 1. Navigating VA Benefits: VA advocates are knowledgeable about the various benefits available to veterans, including disability compensation, pension programs, healthcare services, education benefits, and more. They can help individuals understand eligibility criteria, application processes, and required documentation. 2. Claims Assistance: One of the primary roles of a VA advocate is to assist veterans in preparing and submitting claims for disability benefits. They can help gather necessary medical evidence, fill out paperwork, and ensure that all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time. 3. Appeals Process: If a veteran's claim is denied, a VA advocate can assist in navigating the appeals process. This involves understanding the reasons for denial, gathering additional evidence, and preparing a strong case for reconsideration. 4. Benefit Maximization: VA advocates work to ensure that veterans receive the maximum benefits to which they are entitled. They can assess a veteran's specific situation, identify applicable benefits, and help with the application process to optimize the overall support provided. 5. Understanding Regulations: The rules and regulations surrounding VA benefits can be complex and subject to change. A VA advocate stays informed about these regulations, ensuring that veterans are aware of their rights and entitlements. 6. Communication with VA Officials: Advocates can act as intermediaries between veterans and VA officials. They may communicate with VA representatives on behalf of the veteran, seeking clarification, addressing issues, and advocating for fair treatment. 7. Accessing Healthcare Services: Veterans may need assistance in understanding and accessing healthcare services provided by the VA. Advocates can help navigate the healthcare system, schedule appointments, and address concerns related to medical care. 📣 Potential for some good changes in Army procurement. [Industry Article] Young Bang Details Army Efforts to Modernize Acquisition Processes To take advantage of the capabilities industry has to offer, the Army is embracing more flexible acquisition methods and moving away from strict adherence to traditional approaches. The Army recently released a directive calling for the adoption of a hybrid model, which he said “encourages all different types of things, encourages creativity, but doesn’t want us to default to firm-fixed-price.” https://lnkd.in/e_HQDZy6 #GovCon #SmallBusiness #Accounting #GovernmentContracting #GovernmentContractor #FederalContracting #FederalGovernment #DoD #Army #Procurement #Acquisition

The good news coming out of NILE continues! We were thrilled to be back at Kirtland Air Force Base serving the NCO community there this month. Our commitment to developing strong leaders and building a culture of growth and resilience is unwavering, and it’s deeply rewarding to see these efforts resonate with those who participate in the NILE program. The feedback from this cohort has been incredibly encouraging, and we’re excited to share some of their thoughts with you: “This course is filled with a boatload of valuable information that can help almost anyone improve their leadership abilities.” “Essential for brand new NCOs. Gave me names and definitions for leadership goals that I have been thinking about - allowing me to have a path forward.” “Its focus on connectivity is important. We talk of esprit de corps, but take for granted how to achieve it. The building blocks can be found here if the NCOs are willing to take them and use them.” “It is necessary to take classes like this if we want to change the culture of our force.” “Highly recommend. If you complain about the culture and the environment around you etc., this will give you the tools to effect change at least at your level.” “In my 11 years of service, this has been the most beneficial piece of the Air Force I have ever received.” “Every member of the military, no matter what branch, needs to have a similar kind of training.” If you’d like to learn more about how NILE can empower your leaders and enhance your organizational culture, please reach out. #LeadershipDevelopment #MilitaryLeadership #OrganizationalCulture #NILE

Added: there are some caveats on the remote status with IT support, conferences, geographical area, etc, but reasonable. It’s funny how remote & hybrid categories are splintering. When I was fully remote, I did have travel to sponsors several times a year, a commute to fix my computer, and a few conferences that were local. That was perfect for me. 35 GS-12 fully remote positions! I bet the VA picks up some excellent candidates. Sharing with my network as a reminder to leaders to take care of your employees and their work-life balance if you want to recruit and retain--and as a reminder to your employees that they have options if you don't develop them. Next-Gen isn't just about technology but also about the next generation(s) of the Federal workforce.

The proposed program would fund entities that provide legal support to help Veterans and former service members access VA programs, improve their military discharge status or characterization of service, and seek a review of a military record before a board of correction for military or naval records. The aim of this new program would be to increase access to VA programs and benefits — including compensation and pension, education, health care, loans, national cemetery matters, and VA character of discharge determinations.
