🎣 NOAA’s fishing rule is sinking fast! NCLA is reeling in the unlawful Industry-Funded Monitoring program with a new push to vacate a costly rule that forces New England fishermen into contracts with onboard observers. https://lnkd.in/gPhQEvzV After the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision sank Chevron deference, NCLA is challenging NOAA’s authority to impose this burdensome rule without clear congressional authorization. Without Chevron deference, courts now interpret laws based on what Congress actually wrote, not what agencies think it means. NCLA argues that the Magnuson-Stevens Act doesn’t allow NOAA to saddle fishermen with these contracts. It’s time to cast this unlawful rule overboard. NCLA is urging the court to protect New England fishermen and vacate the Industry-Funded Monitoring program once and for all! 🛥️⚖️

Drills exhibit complex social behaviors, living in cohesive groups led by a dominant male known as the alpha. Within these groups, individuals engage in grooming rituals and communication through vocalizations. Despite their ecological importance, drills face significant threats from habitat loss, fragmentation, and hunting for bushmeat. 🚨🛢️💡From Diesel Dumps to Underground Schemes: Iran's Fuel Smuggling Tactics Fuel smuggling in Iran has taken a creative yet concerning turn. A recent video reveals individuals allegedly pouring diesel into underground holes, only to extract it later from wells—an unconventional strategy in illicit trade. This practice thrives due to significant price disparities between Iran and neighboring countries. While Iranian fuel remains heavily subsidized, smugglers exploit this gap to transport fuel illegally across borders, profiting from the black market. Despite crackdowns, including arrests and confiscation of smuggled fuel, such activities persist. The pioneering Congestion Charge in London in 2003 delivered impressive results: - Limited traffic entering the zone by 18% during weekday charging hours - Reduced congestion by 30% - Boosted bus travel in central London by 33% - Encouraged 10% of journeys to switch to eco-friendly modes - Decreased fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 16% The decision to pause congestion pricing impacts not just New Yorkers but the nation, hindering essential transportation reforms. Classic boat folks often want a classic so bad that they look and look for it no matter how long the chase. To find this one Chris Craft took longer than eight years. Alicia Boardman, and her husband, Bob, and their son, Stanley, are all fans of classic boats. They also own a Chris Craft Cobra, a Houseboat, and a Boston Whaler among other classic boats. Thus, together they own wood, fiberglass, and metal classics. Chris Craft only made 42 of this model and only in 1962.Very few of those (only three boats) had the optional hard top. Thus, a Hard Top Holiday model Chris Craft boat is very rare and hard to satisfy a quest in getting one to own.  Was it Chris Craft’s answer to the Century Coronado? Were Chris Craft’s lapstrake sea skiffs made in their plant in Salsbury, MD their response to Lyman’s success with sales of their lapstrake boats?  It is powered by a 430 cu in Lincoln engine it is rumored that has a killer amount of torque but is fussy about the oil filter properly tightening to be leak free at each oil change. Holman and Moody have been associated with this engine. It came in second in two NASCAR car races. Its performance (in a Ford Thunderbird) matched neck and neck at the finish line with Lee Petty (in an Oldsmobile) in the first Daytona 500. Lee was finally named the winner in the photo finish. The 430 cu in (7.0 L) engine was produced from 1958 through 1965, and used in Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln products. Some of these cars weighted 5,700 lbs. The MEL (Lincoln) engine had a combustion chamber that was fully inside the cylinder, made possible by a 10 degree offset in its top deck. Chevy’s 348/409 engines had a very similar arrangement, although with a valve placement that optimized porting for better high-speed breathing. But that was not the MEL’s main design goal; torque was. Let’s take a closer look now at the structure Chris-Craft used to build its runabouts for 150 years. In Chris Crafts batten-seam construction which is where the planks butt together along their full-length edges and at their ends with small size wood battens at each plank seam. Batten seam construction creates a flush and fair surface on the boat. The difference compared to carvel construction is that there are longitudinal pieces (battens) that buttress each seam from the inside. In addition to the planks being screwed to the frames they are screwed along the full length of the boat’s battens. There is no need to caulk with this type of construction, which is most common in classic Chris Craft runabouts. The upholstery is trimmed in black alligator vinyl like the Chris Craft Cobra. The hull is 22 feet and 7 inches long. Her beam is 8 feet. White vinyl covers the foredeck. Mahogany, natural finished, hull sides.
