The Out-of-Sync Advisor: Applying Disruptive Innovation to Serve Non-Consumers of Wealth Management Advice
Deloitte University Press
More than a third of mass affluent investors do not currently work with a financial advisor—even though 42 percent of these individuals had worked with an advisor in the past. How could disruptive innovations in service models help turn these non-consumers of financial advice into profitable wealth management clients?

Managing Enterprise Services in the Hyper-Hybrid Cloud
Brighttalk
An IT Service Management (ITSM) capability based on the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) has served as the linchpin in modern IT shops. The role of ITSM is becoming critical as organizations consider adopting a hybrid-cloud approach combining on-premise enterprise assets with multiple cloud-based services (both private and public) accessed through many delivery channels, including mobile. While larger enterprises are seeing cloud services extend and enhance their ERP and large legacy system investments, managing the underlying technology requires an IT organization to have an enhanced service management discipline. Effectively applying ITIL processes and service management tools will enable organizations to transition both existing and new services to a hybrid-cloud delivery model while hiding complexity.

Dodd-Frank Swaps Reporting for Large Financial Institutions
Deloitte
Swaps reporting requirements, part of Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act, necessitate financial institutions to make a number of operational and technological changes to meet regulatory standards. A number of these changes are fundamental (e.g., reporting infrastructure and interacting with swap data repositories, or SDRs) and will need to be completed regardless of modifications made to the rules over the coming months. There are other impacts (e.g., coding for missing data fields) that will…

A number of these changes are fundamental (e.g., reporting infrastructure and interacting with swap data repositories, or SDRs) and will need to be completed regardless of modifications made to the rules over the coming months. There are other impacts (e.g., coding for missing data fields) that will depend on the final rulemaking. Careful planning is essential to prepare for the new regulations as designing, building, and testing of changes will require much lead time to implement.

Cloud Computing: Is ITIL Still Relevant?
HP Software Universe 2010
Cloud computing represents a growing evolution in IT in which core IT services are getting sliced and diced across many providers. Organizations can now rent what they were earlier forced to make or own. This translates into collaborative relationships. A capability to abstract this value chain in the form of services is critical to the future success of IT and its mission of delivering business value. ITIL and IT Service Management are well positioned for this. The Service Lifecycle can be…

A capability to abstract this value chain in the form of services is critical to the future success of IT and its mission of delivering business value. ITIL and IT Service Management are well positioned for this. The Service Lifecycle can be leveraged to build this value chain. Lack of a service approach will expose end users and the business to further complexities with no accountability for the end services being delivered.

Omnology Taxonomy
As part of an ambitious project to develop a comprehensive omnology taxonomy, we are collaborating with Howard Bloom Institute. The Becher-Biglan typology and the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math) framework are two approaches that share a common goal with omnology: promoting interdisciplinary thinking and holistic approaches to knowledge.
The Becher-Biglan typology categorizes academic disciplines based on the nature of their knowledge, distinguishing between pure hard, pure soft, applied hard, and applied soft disciplines. This framework suggests that understanding knowledge creation requires considering a discipline's broader context and implications.
On the other hand, the STEAM framework emphasizes integrating diverse disciplines, including the arts and humanities, with STEM disciplines to enhance learning and innovation. Both frameworks encourage interdisciplinary approaches to education and knowledge creation, promoting creativity and innovation in different ways.
To ensure a taxonomy's coherence and completeness, we are structuring a MECE list first based on achievable and active terminal degrees available from established scholar institutions around the world, encompassing fields grouped by STEAM for convenience. -
AI Augmented Intuition
Despite significant advancements in Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), current systems often lack the intuitive, adaptive capabilities seen in natural biological systems. Traditional AI models struggle to replicate the complex, intuitive decision-making processes inherent to human cognition, resulting in a gap between human-machine interactions and real-world applications. Traditional AI models struggle to replicate the complex, intuitive decision-making processes inherent to human cognition, resulting in a gap between human-machine interactions and real-world applications. This research addresses the challenge of enhancing AGI with human-like intuitive abilities by exploring the integration of biomimicry principles, particularly those observed in gut microbiota's influence on cognitive processes and the vagus nerve's role in the autonomic nervous system. The work aims to start an investigate how these biological systems can inspire AGI design to process and present information in ways that resonate intuitively with human users, thereby facilitating a more symbiotic relationship between humans and machines. Additionally, it explores the ethical considerations and potential challenges in designing AGI systems based on these biomimicry principles, aiming to contribute to the development of more intuitive, responsive, and ethically aligned AGI systems.

Harmonics of Change
The intricate relationship between social cycles and the evolution of communication and knowledge act as both catalysts and inhibitors of social change. Influenced by various factors including technology, ecological intelligence, and human expansiveness, we examine the concept of collective superintelligence and its impact on human cognition and behavior, alongside the role of environmental dynamics in shaping human society. Furthermore, we investigate the philosophical and perceptual aspects…

Influenced by various factors including technology, ecological intelligence, and human expansiveness, we examine the concept of collective superintelligence and its impact on human cognition and behavior, alongside the role of environmental dynamics in shaping human society. Furthermore, we investigate the philosophical and perceptual aspects of knowledge, such as synesthesia's challenge to Plato's theory of Forms and the implications of embodied cognition and enaction in understanding intelligence. The work aims to provide an initial analysis of how these diverse factors interact and influence the cyclical patterns of social development and decline.
