Creating Urgency in your Sales Calls. If you have an offer that essentially anyone can start at any time and there's really no benefit from starting today vs next month or next year, then you need to create urgency in other ways. Here's a few ways you can do that... 1. Highlight limited-time offers or promotions or offer exclusive bonuses/incentives for immediate action. It could be price (I prefer price going up than discounts). Ideally, you want to offer things that aren't going to add too much operational costs, but also add a lot more value to their situation. Maybe an additional free training that's only available in a higher tier package or an additional 1-on-1 with the Head Coach. Another way that has worked well with me is not telling them everything they get in the original sales call, so you still have some extra value to offer later. People like to feel like they're getting a deal. Be crafty and figure out how you can do that. 2. Stress the consequences of delaying a decision. During the sales call discovery process, I try to get a good understanding of not only their current situation, but how their situation differs from where they were at 12 months ago or even 5 years ago. This helps a lot with overcoming the time objection. Most likely to this point they have been indecisive and taking little action which is why they're struggling right now. You need to point that out and make them realise that waiting until next month, next year is the exact behaviour that's stopping them from achieving their goals. By having the right information, you can clearly demonstrate that their situation hasn't changed in 5 years, so why do they expect it to miraculously change in the next 12 months. If results is what they truly want and you point out how 'time' and inaction is not serving them, they will probably want to take action now. If not, do you actually want to work with them?? 3. Highlight the benefits of acting now. This will differ depending on your offer. Think about the main pain points they're struggling with and provide them with real life examples of clients you have worked with where you have solved that problem within 30, 60, 90 days. Get them talking about how good it would be if that problem/stress didn't exist next month. 4. Use scarcity tactics to convey that the opportunity is not always available. Taking something away from someone creates urgency. How you do that depends on what you have to offer but it ties in nicely with point no.1. Use these promotional incentives to create intrigue and then use scarcity tactic closer to the end of the promotion for them to take action. Hope this helps.
