April 2024 saw a positive uptick in U.S. manufacturing employment, with 8,000 new jobs added to the sector, according to the latest report from the U.S. Department of Labor. While some subsectors experienced gains, others saw marginal changes. Non-durable goods led the pack with 7,000 new jobs, highlighting the resilience of this vital sector. Employers added 142,000 jobs in August 2024, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS). #Jobgrowth was below the 161,000 Dow Jones projected. National unemployment decreased to 4.2%.   This most recent BLS report also noted significant revisions. The July 2024 total was updated from 114,000 jobs added to 89,000. The June 2024 job growth changed from 179,000 to 118,000.
