Salesforce Sales Cloud just released its 6th State of Sales report last week aggregating insights from 5500 sales professionals across 27 countries 🌎 Sales growth is back where 79% of sales leaders say revenue has increased over the last year 📈 Sikkkk! But the "how" looks different this time around... For example: Partner selling is contributing to growth in meaningful ways. Enablement is rightfully emerging as a top growth lever 🔑 Another surprising stat: 83% of teams that adopted AI saw an increase in revenue over the past year vs 66% of teams without AI. Salesforce won’t invest more in CPQ. The market sentiment says so. Since the launch of RLM (Revenue Lifecycle Management), the market sentiment for CPQ has gone down. People are speculating: → no new advancement → differences b/w RLM and CPQ → CPQ as an outdated tool and more. Here’s the most absurd yet believable speculation: In light of RLM, Salesforce will discontinue CPQ in 2-3 years. But all of this may be just that - speculation. There is nothing to worry, yet. Because RLM isn’t ready to use. It is still in beta. I’ve been getting a lot of queries around - how to migrate from CPQ to RLM. My answer - There is no straight forward way. Great article by Vernon Keenan talking about some of the new Einstein releases and the impact it will have on RevOps market. We've seen Salesforce recently take a number of steps to integrate more data sources between this announcement + Data Cloud and the deepening relationship with Snowflake. The Sales – Presales Partnership 🚀 Markets have undergone tectonic shift over last 2 decades. Lets talk simple math: 250,000 customers x $100,000 (the cost of one employee) which is 45 licenses equals $25B/year. Best part everyone can self-implement. The billion-dollar battle between long-time partners Veeva and Salesforce is heating up as they prepare for a messy divorce, with the future of pharma CRM on the line. A few months after Veeva broke out on its own and launched the first version of a competing CRM platform, Salesforce responded with the launch of a new service of its own called Life Sciences Cloud. Before we get to what’s happening next, a quick recap of how we got here: Veeva is a cloud CRM service built on top of Salesforce and carved out a lucrative niche in the life sciences industry: 47 of the top 50 global pharma brands use it, generating over $2 billion a year in revenue. Salesforce, meanwhile, is the dominant player in the overall CRM market, with a 22% market share. The two companies have been partners since 2017, but two years ago announced a split that would be finalized in 2025. But the two companies are not waiting. Veeva launched its new Vault CRM service this spring while Salesforce launched its Life Sciences Cloud soon after, which as of now helps with things like recruitment for clinical drug trials. The full version with sales automation functions will be available when the divorce is finalized in September 2025. Salesforce has been aggressive in trying to break up what is essentially a Veeva monopoly in pharma: It hired away a top Veeva exec to lead its life sciences team. It also is teaming with top data firm IQVIA, is leaning hard into its proprietary AI services as a feature, and is offering a 30-day trial of its new services with no credit card or software download required. It’s still way too soon to know the full list of features and which one will be more affordable - and, most importantly - which firm will be picked by the big pharma players. Based on how this stuff usually works, most companies will follow the leader. I’ve covered in the past why this is essentially a two-horse race - basically, it’s a symptom of how risk-averse the pharma industry is when it comes to trusting new players.
