We are in the middle of the hurricane season and should have an action plan to handle potential claims. Following is a valuable information to our customers: Per the new regulations in Florida, the INSURANCE COMPANIES should: • Pay or deny a claim within 60 days. • Review and acknowledge a claim communication within 7 days. • Begin an investigation of a claim within 7 days.. • Conduct a physical property inspection within 30 days. It applies to hurricane claims, too. • Use electronic methods to investigate the damage and allow policyholders to participate in using such methods. • Send adjuster reports estimating damage to policyholders within seven days after creation.. • Keep claim records to include information on claim investigation and dates. • Pay undisputed benefit amounts within 60 days..
