Creatively transforming how our world is envisioned, designed, and experienced.
About us
WGI is an award-winning professional services firm recognized consistently by peers and clients for exceptional service and superb work product. We have spent five decades committed to fulfilling our vision of creatively transforming how our world is envisioned, designed, and experienced. When we started WGI in 1972 we knew that we had to start with what the client needed out of the owner-service provider relationship and work backwards. Today that still means we’re honest and transparent with our clients, that we communicate on their terms, and that we do what we say we’re going to do. A few of our talented 🎓 interns recently wrapped up their Senior Design Project at Florida International University in Miami, and we couldn't be more impressed by their success! Their mission was simple... Redesign a section of SR 860/Miami Gardens Drive to include three lanes on each side of the median while incorporating bike lanes in both directions. The team took it a step further, focusing on pedestrian and cyclist safety and crafting a truly innovative mobility solution to overcome space constraints. Their bold idea: a pedestrian bridge running along the median, complete with two bike lanes and a raised sidewalk. This out-of-the-box design ensured safe and seamless travel for pedestrians and cyclists while tackling the challenge of limited space head-on. Throughout the semester, the team worked tirelessly to deliver a comprehensive suite of materials, including a Technical Proposal, Typical Sections Package, Community Awareness Plans, Stormwater Pollution Protection Plans, QA/QC Plan, Pavement Design Package, and Construction Plans. It was a unique opportunity to apply and showcase the design expertise they've honed at WGI. The grand finale? A stellar presentation that wowed both their professor and guest judges. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievement and the bright future ahead for these talented innovators at WGI. Ready to jumpstart your career with a hands-on, dynamic internship experience?
