It's always hiking season in SoCal! Our San Diego hiking group recently wrapped up their fourth hike of the year—a scenic seven-mile stretch through San Diego's beloved Potato Chip Rock. This tight-knit group offers Webcorians a chance to get outside, take on some of San Diego's famous trails, and connect outside the office/project site, naturally building a sense of trust that's tremendously benefited overall team collaboration and morale. Our Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) Behavioral Health Services Center (BHSC) Exteriors Team kicked off the season of giving with a visit to MorningStar at San Tomas, an assisted living facility for seniors with memory impairment. Webcorians bonded with MorningStar's residents over art projects, creative games, and great conversation fueled by residents' eye-opening, heartfelt stories. It was a gratifying way for participating Webcorians to spend their annual volunteer hours drawn from Webcor's Community Engagement program: Each year, we give 1 percent of our profits to community-centered causes, the equivalent value of 1 percent of our profits in in-kind donations, and 1 percent of employee time (volunteer hours). The program is just one example of our commitment to Webcor's Community core value and company purpose: Building Solutions, Bettering Lives. #WhyWebcor
