OHIO — More than $16 million in H2Ohio funding will go toward 13 water infrastructure projects across Ohio, Gov. Mike DeWine and Ohio EPA Director Ann Vogel announced Monday. This is the sixth round of H2Ohio funding awarded to improve water infrastructure. “H2Ohio is making a real difference with the significant investments we are putting into reliable, clean drinking water,” said DeWine in a release. “The projects being awarded today will have a huge positive impact hundreds of Ohioans, and that's what H2Ohio is all about.” #MakeWavesWithWASDA https://lnkd.in/g-9HFMrw

This month's Board member feature is Rory Budds, Chair of WASDA's Education Committee. Q. What made you decided to join the WASDA board? A: I was always interested in being more involved in the industry. Through F.W. Webb, I had been participating in WASDA for a few years, meeting more and more people from across the country. I started talking to Kevin Murphy from Blair Supply. He's someone I looked up to in the business. We talked about getting involved in a committee. One thing led to another, and he asked if I was interested in joining the WASDA Board. I immediately said yes, and the rest is Waterworks history. Q. What are you hoping to contribute? A. I think you get out of it what you put in. I knew I wanted to make a difference, or at the very least create more awareness of what we do as an organization. Being the chair of the Education committee, it is critical people were made aware of the efforts WASDA was making to have a voice in Washington D.C., and fight to have the government invest in our nation's water infrastructure. I really enjoy when people approach me and say something like, “I didn’t realize WASDA was doing that”, or “Hey that was a informative video”. I take a lot of pride in what we do, and I also have a lot of fun with it. Q. Why is water infrastructure such a hot topic right now? A. I do think people are slowly realizing that the lack of investment into our nations water infrastructure is becoming more and more of a problem. Combine that with the fact that even when projects are released, the workforce isn’t in place to complete a lot of these projects. We still need our government to make water and our infrastructure a priority moving forward. Q. What is your favorite water item in the house? A. I would have to say the Soda-Steam my wife got me. I think drinking water is kind of boring. I know it is healthy, but I just need more. I love seltzer water, so having this Soda-Steam pump carbonation into my water bottle is great. I carry that with me all day. Not the Soda-Steam, the bottle! I better get some kind of endorsement deal out of them for this shameless plug. But yes, by far and away Soda-Steam.
