A Christmas tradition for more than 35 years, AMERICAN's Board of Operatives has visited United Ability to make a contribution on behalf of employees. This year $30,000 was given, and more than $1.3 million has been donated over the past three decades to support United Ability's programs and services, which connect people with disabilities to their communities and empower individuals to live full and meaningful lives. #BeABlessing

For almost 100 years, AMERICAN has partnered with the Salvation Army Birmingham Area Command to help those in need. This year, we also sponsored a Red Kettle at Hobby Lobby in Gardendale, AL. If you hear the bells ringing during your holiday shopping, consider donating to the Red Kettle to support our neighbors in need. #BeABlessing

An iconic AMERICAN Flow Control American-Darling B-62-B hydrant sits along the historic Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. The university was established in 1801, and the original campus – once called South Carolina College – was built in a U shape, hence the name Horseshoe. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and many historic buildings surround it today.

Check out what our employees are thankful for this Thanksgiving. As for us, we have much to be thankful for – our employees, our customers, our neighbors and friends. We’re also thankful to call Birmingham home for almost 120 years and to manufacture products that deliver water and energy to people and communities across the U.S. #USinfrastructure #USMFG
