The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a groundbreaking new resolution on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) during its 79th session, with 175 Member States in favor. This resolution reinforces the pivotal role of SSE entities in driving inclusive, job-rich, resilient, and sustainable development—a cornerstone for achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Co-sponsored by countries including Armenia, Canada, Chile, France, Mongolia, Senegal, and Spain, the resolution highlights: 🔹 Promoting decent work and reducing inequalities. 🌟 Fostering economic practices centered on people, cooperation, and equity. 🏘️ Empowering SSE entities to support local economies and enhance economic resilience. UN Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) 50th meeting was held on Wednesday. 30+ representatives from member & observer organizations joined the meeting to discuss United Nations GA resolution on the #SSE, the governance of the task force & its priority areas in policy, education, research, capacity building, financing, and statistics. 

🌍 Two weeks ago, the ICA Global Cooperative Conference in New Delhi brought together cooperative leaders, policymakers, and international organizations for an inspiring exchange on the role of cooperatives in addressing global challenges & shaping a sustainable future.
