Researchers at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, led by Prof. Abdelghani Laraoui, have made a breakthrough by imaging magnetic skyrmions at room temperature. This discovery could revolutionize energy-efficient memory and logic devices by utilizing single-layer metal films and magnetic materials. The research, published in ACS Nano, demonstrates the potential for smaller, faster, and more efficient computing technologies. https://lnkd.in/dHJfGMCQ

Say hello to Audra Clark todays #EngineeringGrad! Major: Civil Engineering What was your favorite part of your college career? I had the privilege of playing five seasons on the University of Nebraska women’s soccer team, culminating in our BIG 10 regular season championship in 2023. Moving from San Antonio, Texas, I’ve been fortunate to form lasting friendships with both my engineering classmates and soccer teammates. I came to Nebraska driven by my passion for soccer, but the College of Engineering has been incredible in helping me grow and discover my passion for structural engineering. What are your plans after graduation? After graduation, I plan to pursue my master’s in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. I’ve also accepted a summer position as a structural bridge intern at HDR in Omaha.

🌟 Meet Rachel Osborn🌟 Major: Accelerated M.S. in Civil Engineering Activities: When I'm not hitting the books, you can find me working out. I love procrastinating by diving into various crafts – just finished crocheting my dog a dinosaur sweater! And here’s a fun fact: my beige flag is knowing every player on the Chiefs, but not a single other football player! What I’ve Loved Most About College: The people I’ve met here in Nebraska have truly made my college experience unforgettable. Joining the graduate program opened doors to friendships with people from all around the world. I’ve been able to hear unique stories, learn about diverse cultures, and truly feel at home—even in the winter (coming from Las Vegas, this was a big adjustment!). The people here have been incredibly welcoming, and it’s made my time in Nebraska unforgettable. Plans for After Graduation: After graduation, I’m excited to join a structural engineering firm where I’ll be designing buildings with steel and reinforced concrete. Oh, and yes, I’ll definitely be rocking my pink hard hat! #EngineeringGrad #NebraskaEngineering
