We love seeing our students take on leadership roles in the engineering education community! Great work, Opanuga Toluwalase.
Good Afternoon Student Division! Our officer highlight this week is our co-program chair Opanuga Toluwalase! Here is the short bio Tolu has shared: I am a third-year Ph.D. student and research assistant in the Engineering Education Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. My research centers on improving engineering students' learning experiences through research-based, student-centered instructional methods, focusing on self-directed learning, problem-based learning, and engineering ethics. My goal is to contribute to initiatives that equip engineering students to effectively address real-world challenges and consider societal, economic, and environmental impacts in their solutions. Beyond my academic work, I have held several leadership and mentorship roles. Currently, I serve as co-program chair for the ASEE Student Division, where I work alongside fellow division officers to provide resources that support the professional development of our student members. Thank you for all the work you do in supporting the ASEE Student Division Tolu!
