The UNFPA Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) strengthens accountability and evidence-based actions to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and the UNFPA mandate.
IEO achieves this by enhancing UNFPA's agility and responsiveness in complex situations, prioritizing those furthest behind. As a member of the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG), IEO upholds the highest evaluation standards and actively contributes to the United Nations system.
IEO is shaping the future of evaluation by championing the responsible use of artificial intelligence in evaluation and fostering the next generation of evaluators. It co-leads the #Eval4Action campaign with EvalYouth Global Network and the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation, empowering young evaluators worldwide and forging partnerships to strengthen national evaluation capacities.
