Dr. Heather Greenwood and her team at University of California, San Francisco have made significant strides in understanding ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a non-invasive #BreastCancer. Their recent study, published in njp: Breast Cancer, examines MRI's role in guiding the care of women with DCIS who opt for endocrine therapy instead of surgery. In their research, MRI was instrumental in identifying which DCIS lesions carry a higher risk of progressing to invasive cancer, helping providers personalize treatment. For patients at low risk, endocrine therapy with MRI surveillance may be a safe, non-surgical alternative. Read more about this study: https://lnkd.in/eSTsPrDX
