📢 TWIN-SAFE Workshop in Lund, Sweden: Strengthening Road Safety and Research Collaboration!🚦 Last week, consortium partners of the TWIN-SAFE project came together in Lund, Sweden, for a three-day workshop hosted by Lund University. 🗓 Day 1 - Participants were introduced to K2, Sweden’s national centre for research and education on public transport, and toured the laboratories at Lund University’s Campus Helsingborg. 🗓 Day 2 - A hands-on workshop on grant writing and funding opportunities in Horizon Europe guided participants through the process of developing competitive research proposals—from brainstorming ideas to finalizing applications. 🗓 Day 3 - The final day showcased impactful research and practical solutions in road safety, including: 🔹 Surrogate safety measures developed at Lund University 🔹 Insights from 15 years of driving simulation research at Hasselt University 🔹 Innovative post-crash solutions like smart guiderails implemented in Croatia 🔹 Lessons from AfroSAFE on road safety infrastructure management in low- and middle-income countries 🔹 Practical applications of the Safe System Approach from Belgium, Croatia, and Sweden Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to work together toward safer roads for all! 🌍🚗✨

The TWIN-SAFE project is dedicated to advancing road safety research capabilities at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences (FTTS) by collaborating with Lund University (LU) and Hasselt University (HU). The project's overarching goal is to establish FTTS as a center of excellence in multidisciplinary road safety research, education, and innovation. TWINSAFE aims to promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and a multidimensional approach, including joint research, capacity building, internationalization, diversity, and entrepreneurial thinking. He has a background in remote sensing and geographic information systems, which provides a valuable geographical perspective to his research.
