Although acceptance of mental health services among male athletes has significantly improved in recent years, we believe this demographic still feels the stigma. Partnering with MEN’S X MENTAL in an effort to break down these barriers was a no-brainer for us.
October 7, 2024 — Men's X Mental is beyond eXcited to announce a significant step forward for our #MXMMoveMENt by officially partnering with Mindflow. This collaboration is set to revolutionize how we support male athletes' #MENtalHealth by providing our communities with direct, stigma-free access to licensed professionals such as therapists, clinicians, & counselors across the country. Mindflow, founded by former collegiate athletes, Anthony Faraino & Caleb Scott, understands the particular pressures male athletes face, & their eXpertise helps to bridge the gap between athletic performance & overall MENtal well-being. Together, MXM & Mindflow are committed to cultivating safe spaces that empower male athletes to thrive both on & off the field. With a shared focus on breaking down barriers, fostering meaningful conversations, & providing user-oriented resources, this unique partnership embodies our core mission to serve male athletes at every stage of their journeys. Our alliance's mantra, “FORMULATED FOR ATHLETES, BY ATHLETES,” is much more valuable than a simple slogan; it is a promise to provide comprehensive support grounded in shared experiences. Hand in hand, we look forward to expanding our reach, connecting athletes nationwide to MENtal health resources, & setting a new standard for how holistic wellness is approached within male athletics. #1Love

As we observe World Suicide Prevention Day, it's crucial to remember the often unseen battles many face, including our student athletes. Recent research has illuminated a troubling trend: the rate of suicide among collegiate athletes has doubled over the past two decades, now standing as the second leading cause of death in this group. This statistic is more than a number—it's a stark reminder of the critical need for robust mental health support in collegiate athletics. The pressures of performance, the scrutiny of public and social media, and the rigorous demands of athlete life contribute significantly to mental health challenges. Despite increased efforts to provide resources, it's clear that much more needs to be done. We at Mindflow are committed to part of the solution. Our personalized mental health services for athletes are designed to address these unique pressures, providing support that is both accessible and effective. We're here to ensure that every student-athlete has the resources to manage stress, overcome challenges, and thrive both on and off the field. Together, let's change the narrative around athlete mental health and provide the support that can truly make a difference. #MentalHealthAwareness #StudentAthleteWellness #Mindflow #NCAA Read more about the study: https://lnkd.in/eJQumjDg

🎙 In this week's episode, Anthony Faraino dives into the critical importance of normalizing conversations around mental health, particularly for male student-athletes who often face societal pressure to maintain an emotionally "strong" facade. We discuss the value of therapeutic services and the profound benefits athletes can experience when they seek help without the fear of shame or embarrassment. Reflecting on his childhood growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, Anthony shares his early passion for sports, from basketball to lacrosse, which eventually led him to play collegiate lacrosse at the University of Richmond. This athletic journey, coupled with a desire to break the mental health stigma, inspired the co-founding of Mindflow—a platform dedicated to supporting athletes’ mental well-being and creating a thriving community. Join us for an insightful conversation on how athletes can find the support they need while breaking down the barriers to seeking help. #thementalmatchup #mentalhealthawareness Anthony Faraino Mindflow
