🚨 New Analysis by David Trimmer: Louisiana's Flat Tax Reform. PolicyEngine projects Louisiana's new individual income tax changes will cost $1.3 billion in 2025. Our analysis finds the reform will cut taxes for 82% of residents and reduce poverty by 0.8%. The law replaces Louisiana's graduated tax rates with a 3% flat rate while introducing a new standard deduction and doubling retirement exemptions. The average benefit ranges from $18 for households in the bottom income decile to $3,442 for those in the highest. Want to learn more or see how these changes affect your household?
