Last week, 20 of our TEX-E fellows headed to Boston for the 10th annual MIT Energy & Climate Hack! Our fellows joined forces with cross-disciplinary teams, racing against time to develop innovative solutions for pressing energy and climate challenges. Through intensive problem-solving and networking, they tackled key areas in renewable energy, transportation & mobility, circularity, and land & agriculture. Thanks to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for fostering this powerful intersection of learning, problem-solving, and climate innovation! Special shoutout to Ben Soltoff for hosting our TEX-E Fellows and the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship. 💡 ⚡️ #MITHack #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #ClimateHack #EnergyInnovation #Entrepreneurship

TEX-E reposted this
#UHBauer graduate students are actively involved in the TEX-E program, a collaboration among Greentown Labs, MIT’s Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship & universities across Texas that aims to create a powerful student-driven energy entrepreneurship ecosystem in and around Houston. 💡 UH has over 20 Fellows participating in the program, including #UHBauer graduate students Abhaya (Abby) Chopra, Radhika Joshi, MBA, Aynaz Shafiesabet, Sarah Grace Kimberly & Pranjal Sheth, who alongside Professor Marcus Stewart spearheaded the TEX-E Feed Dinner on campus, hosting executives and selected students, totaling roughly 40 participants to foster crucial conversations around sustainability and energy. 🌱💚 In addition, 15 students were selected to attend Gastech as part of the TEX-E Future Leaders Program, which allowed them to engage with global energy experts, explore innovations in energy transition technologies and participate in high-level discussions on the future of the industry, and 40 students attended TEX-E Bootcamp at Greentown Labs, a weekend course featuring Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University professors teaching participants about possibilities within entrepreneurship. Last week, five UH TEX-E students represented the university at the MIT Energy Hackathon in Boston, which tasks teams with developing rapid, innovative solutions to problems in renewable energy, transportation and mobility, circularity, and land and agriculture.

🌟 Happy National Entrepreneur's Day! Today we're celebrating the next generation of energy and climate entrepreneurs who are building tomorrow's climate-tech ecosystem. To maintain Texas's position as the nation's largest energy supplier, we're cultivating the next generation of innovative leaders. This summer, our fellows gained valuable climate tech experience working alongside Dana Vazquez at Coflux Purification and Ryan Davidson at CalWave Inc., helping ensure our energy transition leadership continues into tomorrow. Thank you to all the student entrepreneurs who have come through TEX-E and to the future innovators yet to come. 💡🌍 #NationalEntrepreneursDay #CleanTech #EnergyInnovation #StudentInnovators #TexasLeads #TEX-E

What an incredible weekend at our 3rd annual TEX-E Bootcamp for Climatetech Entrepreneurship! We were thrilled to welcome over 100 attendees, including students from our partner schools and others across the country, university faculty & staff, founders, and corporate leaders. The energy and passion for innovation in the climatetech space is undeniable! This event could not have been possible without the support of our partners Greentown Labs, Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, our small but mighty team (David Pruner, Julia Johansson, Isaiah B. Hughes) and our corporate sponsors. Thank you to Dominic C. of ExxonMobil, Aimee DiTommaso of Archaea Energy, and Mussadiq Akram of CenterPoint Energy for speaking and kicking off the weekend with energy! We would like to extend a very special thank you to Bill Aulet and Ben Soltoff for their dedication to TEX-E's mission. The students got to learn from Bill himself as he taught Disciplined Entrepreneurship, signed students’ copies, and truly inspired the next generation of climatetech entrepreneurs. 📚 We’re also beyond grateful to our incredible judges (Dev Motiram, Aleida Rios, James Henahan, Neal Dikeman, Ed Rios) and mentors (Rajeev Agnihotri, Nisha Desai, Shobhana Mani, R. Dylan Cooper, Mark Arnold, Philip Bouchard). Your expertise and guidance were invaluable and set the student teams up for success on Sunday. The caliber of our student participants was nothing short of impressive—though not surprising! In just 24 hours, they identified problems, developed solutions, and pitched full business plans. Congratulations to BioFuels Express, the winning team from Prairie View A&M University, University of Houston, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Houston Community College, and Texas A&M University, for taking home the win and our first-ever TEX-E Champion Jerseys! 🏆🔥 This weekend was a testament to the power of collaboration, passion, and innovative thinking. We can’t wait to see what these talented individuals will accomplish next! Let us know your highlights from this weekend in the comments 👇
