📚 In 1832, Carl von Clausewitz coined the term “fog of war.” Clausewitz argued that “three quarters of the factors on which action in war is based are wrapped in a fog of greater or lesser uncertainty.” 📈 Fast forward to today, and many business strategists and MBA convenors propagate principles of military doctrine, translating them into commercial contexts. Terms like “VUCA” (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous), created by the US military in the 1980s, are habitually used in business circles. This is for good reason - businesses operate in increasingly complex environments across social, economic and environmental domains. 🏢 Given this, how can businesses provide sustainable value creation and maintain resilience in our increasingly complex, interconnected world? 👉 Roger Spitz answers these questions in his latest book 'Disrupt With Impact', which I am glad to publish a book review for!
