A few weeks ago, our Business Employee Resource Group, Live Más TAACOS, partnered with Bridge Builders Foundation Los Angeles to bring future leaders from Los Angeles Unified School District to the Taco Bell RSC in Irvine, CA! Bridge Builders' high schoolers had the chance to meet with professionals from across the technology department through discussions, Q&A sessions, and hands-on activities that showcased the diverse career trajectories within the field, leaving these future leaders empowered. Milaydys Soriano, Market Coach for Miami started off at Taco Bell as an Assistant General Manager and was quickly promoted to Market Coach soon after. Although Milaydys saw her promotion as an opportunity to grow, she was hesitant because of the language barrier. Senior Manager of Global Operations for Taco Bell International, David Perez, and his son Angel set out to become college graduates together around two years ago. As Native American Heritage Month comes to an end, we're spotlight another member of the team - Valarria C., who is part of the Navajo Nation, which is the largest federally recognized Native American Tribe in the United States. 💜 “I was born and raised in Arizona on the reservation where I lived until I went to pursue a degree in Medical Systems. My first language was Navajo, and I ended up learning English in school.” Growing up, Valarria was exposed to many cultural happenings of the Navajo Nation. This included learning and speaking the language with her peers, watching traditional dance performances during ceremonies and wearing traditional clothing for big events.
