Today, we are thankful for our friends at Ford Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies, who generously contributed to Synergos’ Innovation Fund. Kicked off in April during the welcoming ceremony for Camille Massey as our new CEO, the Innovation Fund will provide us with core support to drive progress on complex global issues through a collaborative, community-centered approach. On April 25th, the Ford Foundation hosted an event to welcome Camille Massey, who had recently joined the Synergos team as our new CEO. “It's very moving to be in such a special place. When I think of the Ford Foundation there is such a history of using philanthropy to advance social justice and the wellbeing of people around the world”, she remarked. Today, we are thankful for this fruitful partnership, and for the support from all of you in writing our history. #ThankfulThursdays

This month, we’re reflecting on what makes us feel grateful. We are delighted to share these moments with you in this new series, #ThankfulThursdays. In May, during the Global Philanthropists Circle Members Gathering at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, participants were offered an open space to exchange perspectives on how we can restore trust in a deeply divided world, reminding us of the potential of this community when we unite in purpose. Synergos believes strong civil society organizations are vital for more just, equitable, and sustainable futures. That is why we are members of Plataforma Conjunta, a collaborative initiative that began from Instituto ACP, Instituto humanize, and GIFE for the development and strengthening of Brazil’s civil society organizations. Conjunta’s study of over 200 initiatives identifies institutional strengthening needs as well as available resources for civil society and philanthropy sector leaders. It proposes critical reflections on current offerings, to positively influence the field and stimulate new forms of support for CSOs. https://buff.ly/4e1XZfD Featured in the study is Potencia, an initiative Synergos developed for Luminate grantees for institutional strengthening support and connection among 55 civic and political participation organizations across Latin America. https://buff.ly/3YqfRLF It also references two other studies Synergos conducted on the role of funders in institutional strengthening for civil society organizations. Synergos is pleased to partner with King Khalid Foundation | مؤسسة الملك خالد and Majid Society on the recently launched Pioneers for Social Entrepreneurship program in Saudi Arabia.   The initiative will build skills and connection for over 200 emerging and experienced social entrepreneurs pursuing lasting, local solutions to social and economic challenges. It will boost youth employment and advance social good through inclusion, compassion, and service.
