"Supporting Professionals in Leadership Service to the Consumer Product Safety Field" The Society of Product Safety Professionals (SPSP) is a non-profit professional development organization that was formed in 2017 by a group of consumer product safety professionals interested in professional development for their field. WHY JOIN SPSP? The consumer product safety field continues to grow in many different ways across the globe. Fueling this growth will be a new generation of product safety professionals coming with backgrounds in engineering, compliance, operations, product integrity, and quality assurance professionals. SPSP is the only organization in the consumer product field devoted exclusively to professional development of individuals holding industry positions. Among the reasons for joining SPSP are: 1. Networking across industries to broadening the peer relationships that can help individuals develop knowledge and understanding. 2. Pride that professionals take in their own field, and investing time in participating in the growth of the field. 3. Recognition by companies that their product safety professionals are leaders in the field and committed to the highest level of education and training in the product safety area. 4. Commitment to career growth through education, special conferences and programs, and certification opportunities developed through SPSP’s association with the Consumer Product Safety Certification Services.
